Now, here's what I gather so far: there is the Red-Shirt faction which has been denied its turn at the trough since electing Taksin Shinawat only to have him deposed; then Yingluck Shinawat's first electionwas nullified by the Supreme Court; and her second national votewas 2010, when the Red-Shirts rioted downtown, so the vote was delayed;
then she was finally elected with an absolute majority in parliament, because the Shinawat family is either popular enough OR has enough CA$H to pay plenty of peasants to get an absolute majority (I think a bit of both, as Taksin owned Shin communications, with TV, cell-phone infrastructure, satellites and radio, AND ca$h galore)
which all meant the Yellow-Shirts were OUT of power for a while, along with the Democrats and a couple other more-or-less minor parties that USED TO gain power by forming alliances, but they really lost traction against the full majority that needed no alliances, so they started agitating about Taksin's 'corruption', even though he is/was out of the country, and HIS corruption must mean that Yingluck IS CORRUPT, too, just ask us... (methinks there is more than enough corruption to go around, but the 'powerless' outsiders don't dwell on THEIR suck at the national tit, so

The fireworks explosion that rocked The Bronx last week was set off by local punks celebrating “Sopranos” actor Lillo Brancato’s release from prison, police sources told The Post.
The blast shook homes and broke windows in Pelham Bay around 11 p.m. on Dec. 30, just hours before Brancato was sprung. He served eight years for a 2005 burglary that ended in the murder of NYPD Detective Daniel Enchautegui.
The amateur pyrotechs exploded commercial-grade fireworks on a baseball diamond in the park adjacent to Middletown Road and Ampere Avenue — just five blocks from where Enchautegui was killed.
Compared with other fish, farmed tilapia contains relatively small amounts of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids, the fish oils that are the main reasons doctors recommend eating fish frequently; salmon has more than 10 times the amount of tilapia. Also, farmed tilapia contains a less healthful mix of fatty acids because the fish are fed corn and soy instead of lake plants and algae, the diet of wild tilapia.
“It may look like fish and taste like fish but does not have the benefits — it may be detrimental,” said Dr. Floyd Chilton, a professor of physiology and pharmacology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center who specializes in fish lipids.
tilapia “is one of the most invasive species known and very hard to get rid of once they are established.” Today, wild tilapia has squeezed out native species in lakes throughout the world with its aggressive breeding and feeding.
I only had it once and it was weird the texture was weird and it had no flavor it had gobs of shit ON it though that's what it tasted like I did not like it and I love fish
Also, the new standards allow for baby fish to be fed testosterone even though markets like Whole Foods will not buy hormone-treated seafood.
But many biologists worry that the big business of tilapia farming will outweigh caution, leaving dead lakes and extinct species.
“When people talk about the need to eat more fish, they are using that as a metaphor for fish oil, DHA and EPA,” said Edgar R. Miller III, associate professor of medicine and epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. “So what do we do about the fact that tilapia and catfish, which are farm raised, have very low levels of these compounds?”
In the spring of 1963 Studs Terkel introduced Chicago radio listeners to an up-and-coming musician, not yet 22 years old, "a young folk poet who you might say looks like Huckleberry Finn, if he lived in the 20th century. His name is Bob Dylan."
I remember a baseball game either there or in another previous field when I was five with my old man. Ancient history. I dont know when they built Sicks.
The Keller case is typical of the satanic ritual abuse panic and the dozens of cases that popped up in breathless media reports. The trouble started when Christy Chaviers, a 3-year-old girl who was an infrequent visitor to the day care during the summer of 1991, told her mother that Dan had spanked her. With coaxing from her mother and her therapist, Donna David-Campbell, whom Christy had been seeing to deal with acting-out issues, an incident of spanking turned into something much worse—Dan Keller, the little girl said, had defecated on her head and raped her with a pen. From there, the stories Christy told David-Campbell became wilder: The Kellers “had everyone take off their clothes and had a parrot that pecked them in the pee-pee,” they made her smoke a cigarette, they “came to her house with a chainsaw and cut her dog Buffy in the vagina until it bled.” David-Campbell concluded not that Christy was an imaginative child having trouble with her parents’ divorce, but that she was the victim of ritual abuse.
A ritual abuse “expert,” clinical psychologist Randy Noblitt, testified that satanic cults are real, that they are widespread, and that he too believed Christy, despite not having interviewed her. (As Hampton, the Kellers’ attorney, wrote in Fran Keller’s appeal, “In 2003, Noblitt was featured on ABC’s Primetime having a conversation with Satan who, Noblitt agreed, was actually a pretty nice guy, notwithstanding, of course, his role as the dark lord of evil. No court and no jury should ever rely on the testimony of Dr. Noblitt.”) In addition, the jury heard evidence that local graveyards had been “disturbed,” consistent with the children’s claims of impromptu exhumations, although the jury never heard that those disruptions included natural soil erosion.
In 2010, the Austrian photographer Paul Kranzler began photographing at the beinhaus in the village of Hallstatt. “A beinhaus (bone house), or charnel house, is the place at a church or graveyard where the bones of the deceased are kept after exhumation,” he explained. “As a child, I visited the ossuary, with its painted skulls, one of the strangest places I have ever been—a mystic and very silent place.” Hallstatt is nestled between steep mountains and a large lake, which means that there is limited space for the cemetery. For years, the graves were emptied after only a couple of years to make room for the more recently deceased.
Even seasoned scientists were surprised by a rare 5.1-magnitude earthquake that struck Thursday afternoon off the northern coast of Cuba, rattling residents on both sides of the Florida Straits.
“There is no question that it is unusual where it hit,” said Timothy Dixon, a University of South Florida geophysics professor and earthquake expert. “I have no clue why this earthquake happened.”
Dixon said the earthquake — centered about 112 miles east of Havana in coastal waters — happened about 300 miles from a major fault line between southern Cuba and Hispaniola.
“Scientists are definitely going to be looking at this one,” he said. “Earthquakes happen periodically in Cuba, but in the south.”

When his ex-girlfriend received the invitation, according to the Salem News, she went to the police, complaining Gagnon had violated the restraining order by sending her the email. Police agreed and arrested him, the News reported. He was jailed then released on $500 bail.

Michael Moore, the Hollywood legend of liberal mindset and pro-Democratic documentary, has broken from the party line to criticize Obamacare, calling both its rollout and provisions “awful.”
He made the assessment in a written piece to The New York Times, saying that it was high time liberals came forward and admitted the obvious.
“That is the dirty little secret many liberals have avoided saying out loud for fear of aiding the president’s enemies at a time when the ideal of universal health care needed all the support it could get,” Mr. Moore wrote. But the truth is this, he added: “Obamacare is awful.”
But his reasons were hardly those of conservative views.
Rather, he said the health care plan was actually pro-insurance industry, and that President Obama knew that the better path for reform was a single-payer system that simply provided Medicare for everybody, Mediaite reported.

Former poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion and ITV’s director of television Peter Fincham revealed themselves as Dylanistas yesterday. They were among those at a seminar by Professor Sir Christopher Ricks on the poetry of Bob Dylan, courtesy of the How To: Academy and held at the Condé Nast College in Greek Street.
Motion asked Ricks to discuss Dylan’s punctuation. It is, said the 80-year-old professor, “the relation of time to eternity”.

They had one litter in 2008.. 2 of the pups are still here with mom and dad and the 4 others were farmed out to good homes, And that is the story of how we came to be adopted by the Four Schnauzers of the Apocalypse.
The mom schnauzer was rescued by my ex while jogging.. she witnessed her being dumped from a van which sped away. Nami was homeless for all of about 30 seconds. Since then she has been run over by a pickup truck while pregnant and attacked by a pit bull among other things and none the worse for wear. Should have named her LUCKY.

ReplyDeletePlaying classical music to children boosts their concentration and self-discipline, according to the study.
It improves their general listening and social skills.
Children exposed to the works of Beethoven and Mozart, for example, are more likely to appreciate a wider range of music in later years.
Some teachers involved in a scheme to expose seven to 10-year-olds to classical music reported seeing an improvement in their English.
Another study found that musicians have sharper minds and are less likely to suffer a mental decline.
Mastering instruments such as the piano, flute or violin improves people's ability to pick up mistakes and fix them quickly.

ReplyDeleteIn 2010, the Austrian photographer Paul Kranzler began photographing at the beinhaus in the village of Hallstatt.

Scientists are baffled!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.miamiherald.com/2014/01/09/3861370/earthquake-off-the-coast-of-cuba.html

JERUSALEM/BRUSSELS (EJP)---Irans’ uranium enrichment program could allow it to build a nuclear weapon “in two weeks” in order to “put down Israel,” an Iranian lawmaker and cleric said according to Iranin press reports.
ReplyDeleteMuhammad Nabavian said that Iran would be able to build a nuclear bomb in “two weeks” if it gets “access to 270 kilograms of 20 percent [enriched uranium], 10 tons of 5 percent, and 20 thousand centrifuges.”
“We are not looking for a nuclear bomb, but having a nuclear bomb is necessary to put down Israel,” he said.

ReplyDeleteMichael Moore, the Hollywood legend of liberal mindset and pro-Democratic documentary, has broken from the party line to criticize Obamacare, calling both its rollout and provisions “awful.”
ReplyDeleteHe made the assessment in a written piece to The New York Times, saying that it was high time liberals came forward and admitted the obvious.

Motion asked Ricks to discuss Dylan’s punctuation. It is, said the 80-year-old professor, “the relation of time to eternity”.

The novel is set in Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain), a province of the superstate Oceania in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, and public mind control, dictated by a political system euphemistically named English Socialism (or, in the government's invented language, Newspeak, called Ingsoc)
