The Kontinuous Kronik Defiance Disorder of Imperfect Citizen Zee

With flattery
he will corrupt those
who have violated the covenant,
but the people who know their GOD
will firmly resist him.
~ Daniel 11

Seven Come...

Original Photo By Ringo The Gringo

The seven priests
carrying the seven trumpets
went forward,
marching before the ark of the LORD
and blowing the trumpets.
The armed men went ahead of them
and the rear guard
followed the ark of the LORD,
while the trumpets kept sounding.
~ Joshua 6

Time In A Bottle

In those days
and at that time
I will make a Righteous Branch
sprout from David's line;
he will do what is just and right
in the land.

At the end of the forty days
and forty nights,
the LORD gave me the two stone tablets,

German artist revives names of Holocaust victims

Artist Gunter Demnig carefully pried a cobblestone out of the sidewalk on Friedrichstrasse in downtown Berlin and replaced it with a shiny square brass plaque."Davicso Asriel lived here," the inscription read. "Born in 1882. Deported 25.1.1942. Murdered in Riga.

"It was the latest of more than 25,000 such plaques that Demnig has installed across Europe in front of the homes of people later killed in the Holocaust. He calls his works "Stolpersteine," or stumbling stones, and says that with his art he wants to bring back the names of the millions of Jews, gays, resistance fighters and Gypsies who perished at the hands of the Nazis between 1933 and 1945.

"The victims get back a piece of their identity and at the same time, every personal stone is also meant as a symbol for the entirety of all victims," said the 62-year-old artist, his trademark straw hat pulled down low over as he looked at the new plaque.

Show me, Oh LORD,
my life's end

Imperfect Citizen Zee

A textbook case of Chronic Defiance Disorder!

See, I am sending an angel ahead of you
to guard you along the way
and to bring you to the place
I have prepared.
Pay attention to him
and listen to what he says.
Do not rebel against him;
he will not forgive your rebellion,
since my Name is in him.
If you listen carefully to what he says
and do all that I say,
I will be an enemy to your enemies
and will oppose those who oppose you.
~ Exodus 23

Would Be Babbagarian

For forty years...
one year
for each of the forty days
you explored the land...
you will suffer for your sins
and know what it is like
to have me against you.

The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum

So I turned my mind
to understand,
to investigate
and to search out wisdom
and the scheme of things
and to understand
the stupidity of wickedness
and the madness of folly.
~ Ecclesiastes 7

I see a clinic full of cynics
Who want to twist the peoples' wrist
They're watching every move we make
We're all included on the list
The lunatics have taken over the asylum...

which she so generously sent me,
I would not have a camera at all.

SEYMOUR GETS HIS BLOOM ON
7/6/10

NIGHT BLOOMING CEREUS

This is my Night Blooming Cereus, Seymour. He was a cutting from my friend Rob's plant, and Rob's was a cutting from Stella & George's plant. It took Seymour 2 years to make that one bloom, which lasts for only one night and then dies the next day.

The bloom was bigger than a softball and the smell was very strong, super sweet, like forty million honeysuckle.... almost unbearably strong. The smell filled the whole house.... and that was only one bloom, I can only imagine what multiple blooms must smell like.

The thing inside of it there looks to me like a spider - I thought that it must be some sort of lure to get some creature in there after the "spider" to pollinate it, but I have read that they are pollinated by Sphinx Moths who are attracted to the scent, not the lure... but I still think that spider looking lure is there for some reason that they just don't understand yet. Has to be.

SPHINX MOTH
It has stealth technology!

This guy photographed his bloom opening up in time lapse, and added Robin Trower as a soundtrack! Excellent!

This is what Seymour's flower looks like this morning

Then GOD said,
I give you every seed-bearing plant
on the face of the whole earth
and every tree that has fruit with seed in it.
~ Genesis 1
I read if the bloom gets pollinated the flower turns into a red apple like fruit. Since I have no sphinx moths here I suppose it will just dry up and die within the next day or so. Thanks again to Saint Rob for the cutting and to Grammy Cracker for the means by which to document the bloom.

This morning.
You can see the bloom dying now,
in the lower left hand corner there...

Good Enough For Grandad

Joseph is a fruitful vine,
a fruitful vine near a spring,
whose branches climb over a wall.

With bitterness archers attacked him;
they shot at him with hostility.

But his bow remained steady,
his strong arms stayed limber,
because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob,
because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

because of your father's God, who helps you,
because of the Almighty, who blesses you
with blessings of the heavens above,
blessings of the deep that lies below,
blessings of the breast and womb.

Your father's blessings are greater
than the blessings of the ancient mountains,
than the bounty of the age old hills.
Let all these rest on the head of Joseph,
on the brow of the prince among his brothers.

~ Genesis 49

The Usual Suspect

If anyone teaches false doctrines
and does not agree
to the sound instruction of our Jesus
and to the GODLY teaching,
he is conceited,
he understands nothing.
He has an unhealthy interest
in controversies and quarrels,
in words that result in envy,
in strife, malicious talk,
evil suspicions
and constant friction
between men of corrupt mind,
who have been robbed of the truth
and who think that godliness
is a means to financial gain.
~ 1 Timothy 6

Flirtin' With Disaster

Woe to the Obstinate Nation

1
"Woe to the obstinate children,"
declares the LORD,
"to those who carry out plans that are not mine,
forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit,
heaping sin upon sin;

2 who go down to Egypt
without consulting me;
who look for help to Pharaoh's protection,
to Egypt's shade for refuge.

3 But Pharaoh's protection will be to your shame,
Egypt's shade will bring you disgrace.

4 Though they have officials in Zoan
and their envoys have arrived in Hanes,

5 everyone will be put to shame
because of a people useless to them,
who bring neither help nor advantage,
but only shame and disgrace."

6 An oracle concerning the animals of the Negev:
Through a land of hardship and distress,
of lions and lionesses,
of adders and darting snakes,
the envoys carry their riches on donkeys' backs,
their treasures on the humps of camels,
to that unprofitable nation,

7 to Egypt, whose help is utterly useless.
Therefore I call her
Rahab the Do-Nothing.

8 Go now, write it on a tablet for them,
inscribe it on a scroll,
that for the days to come
it may be an everlasting witness.

9 These are rebellious people, deceitful children,
children unwilling to listen to the LORD's instruction.

10 They say to the seers,
"See no more visions!"
and to the prophets,
"Give us no more visions of what is right!
Tell us pleasant things,
prophesy illusions.

11 Leave this way,
get off this path,
and stop confronting us
with the Holy One of Israel!"

12 Therefore, this is what the Holy One of Israel says:
"Because you have rejected this message,
relied on oppression
and depended on deceit,

13 this sin will become for you
like a high wall, cracked and bulging,
that collapses suddenly, in an instant.

14 It will break in pieces like pottery,
shattered so mercilessly
that among its pieces not a fragment will be found
for taking coals from a hearth
or scooping water out of a cistern."

15 This is what the Sovereign LORD,

the Holy One of Israel, says:
"In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.

16 You said, 'No, we will flee on horses.'
Therefore you will flee!
You said, 'We will ride off on swift horses.'
Therefore your pursuers will be swift!

17 A thousand will flee
at the threat of one;
at the threat of five
you will all flee away,
till you are left
like a flagstaff on a mountaintop,
like a banner on a hill."

18 Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you;
he rises to show you compassion.
For the LORD is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!

~ Isaiah 30

An Audience With the Pope...

Moses replied,
"Are you jealous for my sake?
I wish that all the LORD's people were prophets
and that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!"
