And if you want a drink
Just squeeze my hand
And wine will flow into the land
And feed my lambs
For I am a mirror
I can reflect the moon
I will write songs for you
I'll be your silver spoon
I'm sorry I took your time
I am the poem that doesn't rhyme

ReplyDeleteTune me in to the wild side of life
I'm an innocent young child sharp as a knife
Take me to the garrets where the artists have died
Show me the courtrooms where the judges have lied
Let me drink deeply from the water and the wine
Light coloured candles in dark dreary mines
Look in the mirror and stare at myself
And wonder if that's really me on the shelf
And each day I learn just a little bit more
I don't know why but I do know what for
If we're all going somewhere let's get there soon
Oh this song's got no title just words and a tune
Take me down alleys where the murders are done
In a vast high powered rocket to the core of the sun
Want to read books in the studies of men
Born on the breeze and die on the wind
If I was an artist who paints with his eyes
I'd study my subject and silently cry
Cry for the darkness to come down on me
For confusion to carry on turning the wheel

So everyone can see shit coming except in their own houses
ReplyDeleteWe used to downplay criticisms made against the Syrian revolution, with
regard to the influence and dominance of the Muslim Brotherhood. We did
so under the banner: May the Muslim Brotherhood rise to power and the
Assad regime go to hell.
It turned out that we, as secularists, liberals, democrats and leftists
opposed to the Assad regime, have committed a grave mistake by having
allowed ourselves to be a channel that has helped the Muslim Brotherhood
agenda to develop, or “Islamize the Syrian revolution.” The Muslim Brotherhood has already taken long and significant strides to implement this agenda and reinforce it on the ground!
This catastrophic mistake allowed the group to push the revolution down
a more dangerous path, i.e., sectarianism, through the practices of the
Muslim Brotherhood’s wing in the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

ReplyDeleteFearful that these changes could mean the loss of contracts, CCA
earlier this year went outside its business model and offered to buy a
state prison in Ohio. The deal meant $72 million for the state, which
the company hoped would prove too enticing for policymakers to turn
down.
The company wasn’t done, however. It said it was willing to spend $250
million to purchase prisons in other states struggling to close
deficits. In return, CCA sought long-term contracts—20 to 30 years in
length—but only if states guaranteed that they would keep the
correctional facilities nearly full (90% or higher).

ReplyDeletehttp://www.pixiq.com/article/houston-man-receives-visit-from-fbi-after-photographing-weather
A man who snapped photos of a brewing storm last month received a
ReplyDeletevisit Friday from an FBI Agent, inquiring why he would want to take such
photos.
Michael Galindo explained that he was simply volunteering for the National Weather Service.
And FBI Agent David Pileggi seemed to be satisfied with that response.
But Galindo was left wondering whether he now has a permanent FBI file.
“He told me, ‘you’re not a threat and you are doing a public service
but just be careful next time,’” Galindo said in a telephone interview
with Photography is Not a Crime.
The problem arose because Galindo happened to be taking photos near
the Lyondell Refinery outside of Houston on September 13, even though he
was never standing on the refinery’s property.
Someone from the refinery spotted him and called police, whom apparently arrived after he had left.
Police then contacted the local FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, which bills itself as “nation’s front line on terrorism.”
“I was pretty freaked out when he came but I had no idea what it was
about,” said the 26-year-old man. “The worst thing I’ve done is get
speeding tickets, but I haven’t gotten one in three years.
“He said I was spotted near the refinery but I couldn’t even remember doing that. I thought it had to be somebody else.
“It wasn’t until he mentioned my camera that I made the connection.”
Galindo told the agent that he volunteers for a NWS program called Skywarn that trains citizens to monitor the weather in the name of “protecting lives and property.”
He said when he pulled off to the side of the road and began taking
photos of a brewing storm and potential tornados, he didn’t even notice
the refinery, but made sure there weren’t any “no parking” signs around.
“I told him I had been looking for a clear line of site and I had found it,” he said.
Although Pileggi seemed a little surprised by that response, he
pulled out a three-page document and began asking questions off it,
inquiring whether Galindo had ever been in the military or had ever
traveled overseas and about what schools he had attended in the past.
“I wasn’t sure what that had to do with anything,” Galindo said.

If you thought the x-ray scanners at the airport were bad, wait until you find out that TSA employees will soon know what you had for breakfast and how pumped you are to sit on a plane for twelve hours.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, you won’t know what they know, because Homeland Security’s new toy is capable of detecting every molecule on your person from over 164 feet (50 meters) away—without your permission.
http://www.infowars.com/tsa-to-implement-body-scanners-that-instantly-know-everything-about-your-body/
Hey, this looks like fun.
Within the next year or two, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will instantly know everything about your body, clothes, and luggage with a new laser-based molecular scanner fired from 164 feet (50 meters) away. From traces of drugs or gun powder on your clothes to what you had for breakfast to the adrenaline level in your body—agents will be able to get any information they want without even touching you.
ReplyDeleteAnd without you knowing it.
The technology is so incredibly effective that, in November 2011, its inventors were subcontracted by In-Q-Tel to work with the US Department of Homeland Security. In-Q-Tel is a company founded "in February 1999 by a group of private citizens at the request of the Director of the CIA and with the support of the U.S. Congress." According to In-Q-Tel, they are the bridge between the Agency and new technology companies.
Their plan is to install this molecular-level scanning in airports and border crossings all across the United States. The official, stated goal of this arrangement is to be able to quickly identify explosives, dangerous chemicals, or bioweapons at a distance.
The machine is ten million times faster—and one million times more sensitive—than any currently available system. That means that it can be used systematically on everyone passing through airport security, not just suspect or randomly sampled people.

COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com) — The mayor of Costa Mesa proposed to get rid of soup kitchens to deal with the area’s homeless problem at a city council meeting on Tuesday.
ReplyDelete“My belief is that if we manage to put the soup kitchen out of business that will go a long way to addressing the attractiveness in our city that’s creating a huge negative impact,” Eric Bever said.
According to Bever, the “negative impact” is homeless people who like Costa Mesa because of services that offer food to less fortunate individuals

ReplyDeleteCarolyn and the other members of Trinity who provided statements corroborating her testimony were insistent that WND conceal their identities as a condition of being interviewed.
“I’m still scared to discuss any of this,” Carolyn said.
“At Trinity, if you even hint at talking about Obama being gay, you are reminded of our dear departed choir director,” she said. “He was killed, and it wasn’t a robbery. The Christmas presents weren’t touched. The TV was not taken, nothing in the apartment was missing.”
Carolyn’s reference was to Donald Young, the 47-year-old homosexual choirmaster at Trinity who died of multiple gunshot wounds in his Chicago apartment Dec. 24, 2007.
Young’s murder was preceded Nov. 17, 2007, with the execution-style murder of 25-year-old Larry Bland, another black gay member of Trinity United. He also was murdered in his home, dying of multiple gunshot wounds, according to his death certificate.
Just two days after the murder of Young, a third openly “gay” member of Wright’s church, Nate Spencer, reportedly died of septicemia, pneumonia and AIDS.

ReplyDeleteMomus is the most ambitious literary creation of Leon Battista Alberti,
ReplyDeletethe famous humanist-scientist-artist and "universal man" of the Italian
Renaissance. In this dark comedy, written around 1450, Alberti charts
the lively fortunes of his anti-hero Momus, the unscrupulous and
vitriolic god of criticism. Alberti deploys his singular erudition and
wit to satirize subjects from court life and politics to philosophy and
intellectuals, from grand architectural designs to human and divine
folly. The possible contemporary resonance of Alberti’s satire—read
variously as a humanist roman-à-clef and as a veiled mockery of the
mid-Quattrocento papacy—is among its most intriguing aspects. While his
more famous books on architecture, painting, and family life have long
been regarded as indispensable to a study of Renaissance culture, Momus
has recently attracted increasing attention from scholars as a work
anticipating the realism of Machiavelli and the satiric wit of Erasmus.
This edition provides a new Latin text, the first to be based on the two
earliest manuscripts, both corrected by Alberti himself, and includes
the first full translation into English.
