But Joshua had commanded the people,
"Do not give a war cry,
do not raise your voices,
do not say a word
until the day I tell you to shout.
Then shout!"
~ Joshua 6
Grasping the torches in their left hands
and holding in their right hands
the trumpets they were to blow,
they shouted,
"A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!"
~ Judges 7
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy.
~ Job 8
He prays to GOD and finds favor with him,
he sees GOD's face and shouts for joy;
he is restored by GOD to his righteous state.
~ Job 33
May those who delight in my vindication
shout for joy and gladness;
may they always say,
"The LORD be exalted,
who delights in the well-being of his servant."
~ Psalm 35
You who bring good tidings to Zion,
go up on a high mountain.
You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem,
lift up your voice with a shout,
lift it up, do not be afraid;
say to the towns of Judah,
"Here is your GOD!"
~ Isaiah 40
