Streets Of London

 The highways are deserted,
no travelers are on the roads.
The treaty is broken,
its witnesses are despised,
no one is respected.

Isaiah 34:Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.

2 For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

8 For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

Zephaniah 1 : The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

A second member of the Russian punk
protest group Pussy Riot has had her application for parole refused.

A court in Saransk ruled that Nadezhda Tolokonnikova had not repented for her
crime of hooliganism after singing a protest song against President Vladimir
    Putin in Moscow's main cathedral.

A similar ruling was delivered against Maria Alyokhina on Wednesday.

Both women are due to be released from their penal colonies next year; both
    are eligible for parole already.

The Bogus High-Tech Worker Shortage: How Guest Workers Lower US Wages

    http://www.pbs.org/newshour/businessdesk/2013/07/the-bogus-high-tech-worker-sho.html

    ReplyDelete
  22. BabbaZee9:40 AM

When Bill Clinton was president, wages for American IT workers were climbing and American students were clamoring to become computer scientists. Fifteen years later, average real IT wages are no higher. It is no coincidence that high-tech industries are now using guest workers to fill two-thirds of new IT jobs.

And now they're asking Congress to provide them with an even greater supply of guest workers -- a supply that by the IT industry's own estimates would equal 150 percent of the expected number of new IT jobs each and every year going forward. With its passage of the comprehensive immigration reform bill, the Senate has complied, putting out a sign for IT jobs that says, "We prefer guest workers."

The IT industry and its many supporters argue that without this infusion of guest workers it will starve because of the scarcity of domestic native and foreign-born citizens with the right aptitude or interest. Researchers like us, who have the temerity to suggest that the evidence fails to justify importing ever more guest workers, are accused of being anti-immigrant, anti-capitalist, Luddites, or just plain troglodytes who can't fathom the character of modern technology industries.

For those of us who simply want to get the policy right, however, this is a debate about America's policies for creating good jobs, strong technology and an innovation-based economy. We welcome immigrants and support an immigration policy that draws the best and the brightest and provides opportunity to newcomers. But policy should not be about targeting government giveaways to a few industries by supplying ever more guest workers when there is an ample domestic supply of qualified graduates and workers.

This type of spying and slow destruction of the 1st, 4th and 14th Constitutional rights has been in the works for DECADES. Don't kid yourself. The Democrats AND Republicans are doing it.

The new Rolling Stones album Beggar's Banquet, was scheduled to be released on today's date in 1968 in the US, but was held back after Atlantic Records feared the cover, featuring a filthy men's room with graffiti on the walls, would be fou...nd offensive.

Needless to say, The Stone's weren't very happy about it. (We almost used the word 'pissed'). The album was eventually released with an all-white cover that looks like an invitation.

Here is a picture of the original cover. The picture was used on a CD of the album in the U.S.

On July 26, 1968, The Moody Blues released their third album "In Search of the Lost Chord".

In Search of the Lost Chord is a concept album around a broad theme of quest and discovery, including world exploration 'Dr. Livingstone, I Presume...', music and philosophy through the ages 'House of Four Doors', lost love 'The Actor', spiritual development 'Voices in the Sky', knowledge in a changing world 'Ride My See-Saw', higher consciousness 'Legend of a Mind', imagination 'The Best Way to Travel', and space exploration 'Departure'.

The mysterious "lost chord" of the title is revealed to be the mantra "Om" in the last stanza of Graeme Edge's poem "The Word".

Does this LP bring back any memories to any of you?

Happy 45th Birthday to "In Search of the Lost Chord"!!!

White House Policy Director Supervised Rubio McCain Immigration Bill – Power Shifts to DOJ LaRaza

    http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/2013/07/white-house-policy-director-supervised-rubio-mccain-immigration-bill-power-shifts-to-doj-laraza/

If it is too complicated for the full 100-member Senate body to get together to craft legislation, and we are plagued with the Gangs of 8 to do the business of the U.S. Senate, why would Obama’s Director of White House Policy be involved in an immigration bill four Republicans think is swell? Celia Munoz, the referred to Director, formerly worked for the National Council of La Raza. Now we understand why an alien is allowed to have three fraudulent passports before such behavior results in a crime. Crime pays for illegals in America.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jul/24/syria-refugee-crisis-world

Here is more from The Guardian:

Western countries including the US and Britain may be asked to accept tens of thousands of Syrian refugees because the exodus from the civil war is overwhelming countries in the region, the UN’s refugee chief has warned.

With no end to the war in sight, the flight of nearly 2 million people from Syria over the past two years is showing every sign of becoming a permanent population shift, like the Palestinian crises of 1948 and 1967, with grave implications for countries such as Lebanon and Jordan, UN and other humanitarian aid officials say.

    [....]

In an interview with the Guardian, António Guterres, the United Nations high commissioner for refugees, said the situation was already far more than just a humanitarian crisis. If a resolution to the conflict was not found within months, the UN will look to resettle tens of thousands of Syrian refugees in countries better able to afford to host them, including Britain. Germany has already offered to take 5,000, but other offers have been limited, Guterres said.

I’m beginning to think these Muslim conflicts in the Middle East are about getting Muslim migrants spread around the Western world, or at least that is the side-benefit for Socialists like Antonio Guterres.

Why Won't the Media Cover Huma Abedin's Ties to Global Jihad Movement?

The media want to know why the “elegant Huma” – Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide and former deputy chief of staff – would do such an inelegant thing. Was this couple’s therapy writ large? Was it for their child? Was it … love?

True, the barbs of Huma’s ambition – as naked as her husband’s dirty pics – have broken through the gauzy chatter. But cut off from context, they, too, end up perpetuating what is, in fact, the great Huma Abedin cover-up.

It is not enough to analyze Huma Abedin as a “political wife.” Abedin is also a veritable Muslim Brotherhood princess. As such, the ideological implications of her actions – plus her long and privileged access to U.S. policy-making through Hillary Clinton – must be considered, particularly in the context of national security.

City Invests $18 Mil to Help Illegal Aliens Get Jobs

Washington, DC July 26, 2013 The Judicial Watch Blog

New York City is making headlines—and angering many—for becoming the nation’s first municipality to spend millions of taxpayer dollars to help illegal immigrants get jobs and learn English. How generous of the Big Apple!

Under the plan the city will become the first in the U.S. to invest $18 million in a special program aimed at helping illegal aliens find work and get driver’s licenses. City officials have named it the immigration relief program and it will include adult education classes and legal services, among other benefits. It is expected to help tens of thousands of illegal immigrants living in the area.

Survey: only 15% of farmers would eat GMO food

The British survey was funded by Barclays Bank and done in collaboration with Farmers Weekly.

Only 15% of farmers polled said they would eat GMO food. Talk about a blanket rejection. It can’t get much clearer than that.

Obviously, these backward farmers want to protect their own health. Who ever heard of such a thing! How dare they! They’re supposed to follow the party line. They’re supposed to say, “Yum yum, give me some GM.”

Well, funny things happen when people consider their own bodies. They tell you what they really think.

You see, 61% of the farmers said they’d grow GMO crops “if they had the opportunity.” In other words, they’d willingly endanger other people’s health, but not their own.

    “Just business, nothing personal.”

Salim Mansur, an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, has written an article titled “Islam and Islamism”
    http://www.globalmbwatch.com/2013/07/25/recommended-reading-islam-and-islamism/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheGlobalMuslimBrotherhoodDailyWatch+%28The+Global+Muslim+Brotherhood+Daily+Watch%29
Islamism is — from the perspective of someone born and raised within the mainstream majority Sunni Islam — an ideology fascistic and totalitarian in impulse and action, masquerading as religion. The proponents, advocates, activists and apologists of Islamism, irrespective of whatever guise these Islamists assume in public, are engaged in the sort of radical politics the West became acquainted with in the early decades of the twentieth century with the rise of Communism, Fascism and Nazism.

Islamism is about power: Islamists are obsessed with power to the extent that such obsession becomes pathology. The political mission of Islamists is to establish a Shari-based state, idealized as the only true and genuine expression of Islam. Abul A’la Maududi, the founder of Jamaat-i-Islami in South Asia, was blunt about his Islamism. Maududi insisted that Islam was a fully formed and coherent political system best described as ‘kingdom of God’ or ‘theo-democracy’ — entirely unrelated to the idea of democracy as understood in the West. The plain-spoken purpose of the Jamaat is to train and prepare a cadre of Islamist Muslims to acquire or seize political power and establish a totalitarian state. ‘In such a state,’ Maududi writes, ‘no one can regard any field of his affairs as personal and private. Considered from this aspect the Islamic State bears a kind of resemblance to the Fascist and Communist states.’

"Schatten-Eine nächtliche Halluzination" ("Shadows-a Nocturnal Hallucination"), also known in English as "Warning Shadows" is a 1923 German silent film directed by Arthur Robison. It is considered part of German Expressionism. At a dinner party, a shadow player entertains a count, his flirtatious wife, and four of her admirers. Fort Worth Police Invade Wrong House. Kill 72-Year-Old Homeowner

Police officers in Fort Worth, Texas, shot and killed an elderly resident at his home after mistakenly going to the wrong address on a burglary call.

About an hour after midnight on May 28, police received word of a burglar alarm going off at 409 Havenwood Lane. Officers B.B. Hanlon and R.P. Hoeppner responded, but showed up at 404 Havenwood. The officers said poor lighting caused them to visit the wrong home.

A search warrant affidavit released this week says the officers “approached the west side of the house near the garage that is located on the southwest corner of the home with the knowledge that there was a possible burglary in progress. There is no lighting around the home and the officers had only the use of their flashlights.”

At 404 Havenwood, the officers encountered homeowner Jerry Waller, 72, who was holding a handgun “near the corner of the home,” according to the affidavit.

The officers claim they identified themselves and ordered Waller to drop the gun, but he pointed it at the officers, prompting Hoeppner to shoot Waller.

Waller’s son, Chris Waller, disputed the officers’ account following the shooting, and accused police of “misrepresenting details of the incident.”

“My father never stepped outside of his garage,” Chris Waller told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram the day after the shooting. “He was shot multiple times in the chest only a few steps away from the doorway to his kitchen.”

Former Councilwoman Becky Haskin, who lives two doors down, said the entire neighborhood has been seeking answers about what happened that night, including why Hoeppner fired six times at Waller.

Police are still investigating the shooting.

Pissed off at the Muzik-Nazis (Universal Group) who came to own his back catalogue..... Robert Fripp released hundreds of Fripp-Crimsons tracks FOR FREE on the King Crimson website.

Unfortunately I heard the news about a year too late.

Fripp has stopped playing to get the Crimson's financials in order.

King Crimson‘s Robert Fripp has granted a rare interview with the UK Financial Times to explain why he has given up on the music business. “I couldn’t concentrate on music, so I made the choice to give up my career as a musician in the front line to deal with the business.”

Apparently, this all stems from a recent altercation with music giant the Universal Group, who recently bought up a series of independent labels that own parts of his back catalog. Fripp believes this action has led to the release of unauthorized releases under his name.

It shouldn’t all be about money, says Fripp. “Do you believe that
Rostropovich was playing a cello just for a living? Do you believe that Hendrix
was playing for money? Music is a language in which we can express our
struggle with what it is to be a human being. This is at the center of
what created King Crimson. Today I remain responsible for that… how can I
lie to that? If I do, I cease to be human.”

A multi-disc deluxe edition of the 1973 Crimson classic ‘Larks’ Tongues in Aspic’ is set for release in October and will include 13 CD’s, a DVD and a Blu-Ray disc.

    Middle East Scale Violence

July 27, 2013: The government believes about a thousand people a month are dying from cartel related violence. This puts Mexico ahead of the recently increased terrorist violence in Iraq and where Syria was earlier this year. Some 70,000 have died in the cartel war since 2007, compared to over 100,000 in two years of Syrian violence and 120,000 Iraqi dead in a decade of religious violence. Since the 1970s there have been similar internal conflicts in Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey. It’s a bit of Middle East style civil violence in North America. This is not the first time. Leftist and drug gang violence in Colombia have left over 220,000 dead in the last 60 years. That’s for a country with only about 40 percent as many people as Mexico. This war in Colombia in finally winding down, but is shows you how long and bloody such conflicts can be.

From one of my favourite food blogs:

    The Right to Bear Arms

My husband’s uncle was an officer who served under George Patton’s command in WWII. At the end of the war, he brought home his Colt 45 automatic officer’s pistol and, as a gesture of friendship, gave it to his brother-in-law, my husband’s father. In 1991, my husband received the pistol and, because we were traveling, stored it, along with his and our son’s weapons of small animal destruction, at a cousin’s house in Upstate New York, where my husband grew up.

Egypt's deposed Islamist President Mohamed Morsi, who has been accused of murder and other crimes, is likely to be transferred to the same Cairo prison where former leader Hosni Mubarak is now held, the interior minister said on Saturday.

Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said a decision on where to hold Morsi, whose current location has not been announced, would be up to the investigating judge. When pressed by journalists about where Morsi would be taken, he said "mostly likely to Torah" prison.

"Global jihad is at our doorstep," said the head of Israel's Military Intelligence this week.

Unlike our media and politicians, Major-General Aviv Kochavi is paid to see reality without fear or favor, and to tell it like it is.

American conservatives have thought so at least since the Twin Towers bombing in 2001, and some, like Andy McCarthy, have known it since the Blind Sheikh tried to truck-bomb the World Trade Center in 1993.

In fact, historians may date the start of the Global Jihad to October 1979 -- to the Islamic Revolution in Iran, after Jimmy Carter betrayed our loyal ally the shah of Iran to the most cruel and oppressive reactionary ideology in the world. That was the first major explosion of Muslim imperialism in modern times. Iran is now moving toward nukes and missile production, with the quiet consent of Barack Hussein Obama.

Today, the most radical rebel faction in Syria has declared that it wants to establish an Islamic caliphate there. The other word for "caliphate" is "empire," and Islam is an imperialistic ideology, just as surely as Soviet Communism and the Nazis.
