L’Chaim!
And that is all.

Sometimes I realize why I never get much more than an occasional whisper if that at all. Sometimes an idea just pops in my head, but I soon realize from where it came.
I think I'll make one last trip to the garage, stretch out on the couch for a few hours. There is some college feetballz on now, (Cincinnati & South Florida) and so far it's been a pretty good game. I've been well fed today, and I'm going to eat well tomorrow. I'll nap when I feel like I need a nap, eat when I feel like eating, and make a dent in several cases of beer. Seems like a plan to me.
then grab some sleep. The wife says I've been talking in my sleep. I do that when I'm exhausted. Sleep walking too. I've needed the rest this week, but fear it was not enough.
i was so tired last night that i wasn't really compos mentos or whatever its spelled like and I had to drive R back to Seattle in insane shopping traffic. asking for help all the way there and back...we made it though
if I talked in my sleep surely I would get thrown out of here in an instant so let us hope I never do that

“In the art world today, I’m so conservative I’m radical. Most painters don’t care for me. I’m strange to them. Actually, I don’t consider myself an artist in the usual sense. Talking art bores me and I hate to get caught painting—- here I am working on this damn thing. Hate it. I hate to have people see me with my watercolor block under my arm—- here I am going painting. That’s just awful. Those pictures of the artist standing with his big palette in front of a painting—- Jesus, I think it’s awful. Artists will say, “If only I could get the effect of that sulfur-yellow sky above that landscape.” I’m never struck by that stuff—- cloud formations. Or friends will say, “Andrew, I know a place you would love to paint.” God, that has nothing whatever to do with what I do.”
In recent days, France, Britain and Turkey have stepped into the diplomatic vacuum to recognize a newly formed opposition that is broadly representative of all Syrians. The United States should follow their lead and then vet and arm the unified group with defensive weapons on the condition that it pursues an inclusive post-Assad framework. The United States and its allies should also consider establishing a no-fly zone to protect the innocent. America's weight and influence are needed. Leaving this to regional powers, whose interests are not identical to ours, will only exacerbate the deepening sectarianism.

The fragile state structure of the Middle East has been held together for decades by monarchs and dictators. But as the desire for freedom has spread from Tunis to Cairo to Damascus, authoritarians have lost their grip. The danger now is that the artificial states could fly apart.
The head of the Socialist Popular Alliance party and former presidential candidate, Abul-Ezz El-Hariri accuses the Muslim Brotherhood's political arm of hiring thugs to physically assault him and his wife in Alexandria, Egypt.
that's my brother's 54th birthday, January 22nd. My mom was born on the 22nd, and so were both of his son's in their respective birth months. Both of my kids along with their maternal grandmother were born on the 2nd of their respective birth months.
Brady Hoke is the head coach of meatchicken. He played football at a neighboring school. My big brother had the distinct pleasure of knocking Brady out coming across the middle to catch a reception and they went helmet to helmet. Brady took a nap and woke up with a very bad headache and my brother picked up an additional 15 yards on that reception.
It's game day, and that moment in my brother's life must bring quite a smile to him. It certainly does for me.

Modern wheat is a "perfect, chronic poison," according to Dr. William Davis, a cardiologist who has published a book all about the world's most popular grain.
Davis said that the wheat we eat these days isn't the wheat your grandma had: "It's an 18-inch tall plant created by genetic research in the '60s and '70s," he said on "CBS This Morning." "This thing has many new features nobody told you about, such as there's a new protein in this thing called gliadin. It's not gluten. I'm not addressing people with gluten sensitivities and celiac disease. I'm talking about everybody else because everybody else is susceptible to the gliadin protein that is an opiate. This thing binds into the opiate receptors in your brain and in most people stimulates appetite, such that we consume 440 more calories per day, 365 days per year."

According to Tyler, the song was inspired by the Massachusetts landscape in wintertime. The song's lyrics also discuss a relationship. It is one of Steven Tyler's favorite Aerosmith songs. The song is highlighted by acoustic guitars, slow haunting vocals, and a strong rhythm. On the Get Your Wings album, the song starts off with a crowd of people cheering, which gradually fades to the howling wind and acoustic guitars which start off the song. This is done to achieve a blending effect between this song and the previous track, "Train Kept A-Rollin'".

Sub Pop co-founder Bruce Pavitt knew he had something special in a box in his attic. For years, he just couldn't bring himself to dig into the memorabilia from the grunge era. Now that he has, he's unearthed an amazing collection of treasures from the dawn of the grunge era.
Among those treasures are never-before-seen pictures chronicling the groundbreaking 1989 European tour by a then relatively unknown Nirvana.
I saw part of a film once made by some British people about him and it showed all the places he had lived including under the bridge, at other people's houses, etc

Ugandan president repents of personal, national sins 'We confess idolatry, witchcraft, political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue'
“I stand here today to close the evil past, and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation. I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of my predecessors to repent. We ask for your forgiveness,” Museveni prayed.
“We confess these sins, which have greatly hampered our national cohesion and delayed our political, social and economic transformation. We confess sins of idolatry and witchcraft which are rampant in our land. We confess sins of shedding innocent blood, sins of political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue and betrayal,” Museveni said. http://www.wnd.com/2012/11/ugandan-president-repents-of-personal-national-sins/

ReplyDeleteAccording to Tyler, the song was inspired by the Massachusetts landscape in wintertime.

ReplyDeleteSub Pop co-founder Bruce Pavitt knew he had something special in a box in his attic. For years, he just couldn't bring himself to dig into the memorabilia from the grunge era. Now that he has, he's unearthed an amazing collection of treasures from the dawn of the grunge era.
ReplyDeleteAmong those treasures are never-before-seen pictures chronicling the groundbreaking 1989 European tour by a then relatively unknown Nirvana.

ReplyDeleteyou oughta see the town he grew up in especially back then. No wonder he was kind of permanently depressed.
ReplyDeleteI saw part of a film once made by some British people about him and it showed all the places he had lived including under the bridge, at other people's houses, etc
ReplyDeleteYup. When I drive through there on the way out to the ocean beaches I think of him trying to grow up in that dreary mossy impoverished place.
ReplyDeleteAleppo (Agenzia Fides) – The historic Arabic Evangelical Church of Aleppo, in the Jdeideh district (the old town), was mined with explosives and blown up “by armed men, for pure sectarian hatred”: This is what Pastor Ibrahim Nasir, spiritual leader of the Arabic Evangelical Church in Aleppo says, in a statement sent to Fides Agency, referring to the explosion which occurred two days ago.

We snacked through out the day and never really actually had a meal, but we've eaten plenty. A guy Saturday if there ever was one. I got put on some comfortable sweatpants now and wait for the girls to return from Virginia Beach. They should get home anytime soon. I'll call and check mebbe.
ReplyDeletethey are almost home. I go put on my sweat pants and get comfy now. Adidas makes some very comfortable sweats. Perfect for sleeping in. In the summer or the winter. They both keep you warm and cool. Not sure why, but it's true.
ReplyDeleteUgandan president repents of personal, national sins
ReplyDelete'We confess idolatry, witchcraft, political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue'
