Autumn Almanac

All the stars in the sky will be dissolved
 and the heavens rolled up like a scroll;
all the starry host will fall
like withered leaves from the vine,
like shriveled figs from the fig tree.

Britain has rebuffed US pleas to use military bases in the UK to support the
build-up of forces in the Gulf, citing secret legal advice which states that any
pre-emptive strike on Iran could be in breach of international law.

Well, now I've found the super secret feral posting parlor. It is Friday, right? Not some fake ass excuse for Friday that turns out to be Thursday in disguise? Yikes- make it through one more grueling night shift, and then Saturday.
Gonna' do a C-butter bomb, and go for a night cruise at the beach with the Rat Rod Bicycle gang. Fun in the dark!

The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. The team
was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at
least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a
heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The
security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and
repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is
commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to
Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights.
The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours -- enough
time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away,
to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special
operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

I know Sigonella quite well. Spitting distance away essentially. C-130G's could have been in the air moments after the initial attack. Someone decided to let these people die. People decided to "let" them die.

The star of the blockbuster film “Dark Knight,” Christian Bale, presented an award to Chen Guangcheng, the blind activist who spent years under house arrest for his efforts to fight government oppression, including forced abortions and sterilization.

Bale met Guangcheng for the first time before he presented him with the award at the annual gala on Thursday in New York City for Human Rights First, a non-profit, nonpartisan international human rights organization, according to its website.

“He [Chen] had exposed a program of forced abortion and sterilization in Shandong,” Bale said. “A program of forced abortion means that women are being dragged from their homes against their will.

“They are being forced to have abortions, sometimes late-term — imagine that — with some women reportedly dying in the process,” Bale said. “Now this is true horror.

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A Riverside woman is facing misdemeanor charges following her arrest for speaking too long at a Riverside City Council meeting, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported Thursday.

Karen Wright, whose arrest was videotaped and obtained by the paper, was cited for disrupting a public meeting Tuesday night.

“The incident unfolded after Wright exceeded her allotted three minutes to speak at the lectern while commenting on a sludge hauling contract,” the paper reported.

Wright, 60, was initially handcuffed by two officers while she was on her knees

govco really sucks at cyber security. the following order is as follows.

    1. Insurance Companies. No one does it better.

    2. Banking. They only do what they have to to protect their reputations such as it is.

    3. Distribution. Oddly enough WalMart, Sysco, Costco,...these folks are actually very good at it.

    4. GovCo. GovCo sucks at cybersecurity. They always have an enormous budget, but their people work 9 to 4 and they are very fond of long lunches. It's hard to get anything. The NSA is only effective because of the military component, but every other agency sucks horribly.

Not even the bulldyke can solve the GovCo cyber security issue. Shit, I doubt she can spell it.

an email I just sent to my big brother. I've never mentioned Beirut to either of my brother's but could no longer contain it.

    Jeff:

You miss the point. The former SEALs were not supposed to be there supporting the ambassador. The ambassador was a snatch and grab that the MB (Muslim Brotherhood) (PBUT) piss be upon them has setup with our own state department.. Then our brave and brilliant dear leader was going to save the day (would be right around this time) before the election.

I grow so weary of this bullshit. I've seen it first hand and I'm seeing it again. Because these men were brave and were men of principle they were expended. I spoke with Michael about this earlier tonight. I've also spoken with some pals still in the community. SPECTRE was in the sky over there. A C-130G is an amazingly accurate weapon system, and if they were painting the target (presumably) the mortar site that took them out,....it's nothing new. This happened 29 years ago also. October 23rd, about 4 am. In Beirut. I was there. French Barracks. They lost 58 men, 3rd Parachute Regiment.. No one ever talks about them. That's in addition to the 241 US Marines. (And screw wickipedia, it wasn't the 1st Parachute Regiment. I'd like to slap the crap out of who ever posted that).

Ronnie would have left me there to die and not lost one minutes sleep. We couldn't get any support for two days.

On the second day I started to help airlift the PLO and Hezzbollah out of the shit storm they knew Israel was going to rain upon them at any moment. I was ordered to help the bastards that tried to kill me! Escape to Tunisia. That's adding insult to injury like you have no idea.

Nothing I've ever spoken to you or Michael about. Didn't see the point in it. Now I'm concerned about Mathis' son. He's finishing up Special Forces Q-Course. I'm armoring him up because the Army will do a piss poor job with that. He's gotta go guard those EFFin poppie fields for another corrupt government in the A-Hole. (Afghanistan) and try not to be shot by people he had tea and biscuits with that morning.

    Nothing new under the sun.

Politicians lay wreaths, but they don't give a crap about the boots on the ground. They leave something else behind.

This too will be swept under the rug. This is post america. get used to it.

    ReplyDelete
  116. BulgarWheat1:46 AM

maybe too harsh, but I need to snap my brothers out of their sleep one way or another. That I didn't die at the age of 23 is nothing short of a miracle. I have a different view on life than they do.

got to talk with my older brother for a few minutes. Him and my younger brother want me to jump on the Romney bandwagon and I told them both the same thing,.....vote Jerry Garcia/Warren Zevon. Sure! They're both dead but think how much less harm they'd do!

now he's convinced I'm insane. I shared that insanity I posted below with his law partners. He had to explain his unhinged brother.

    "

    Understated as usual :)

For those who don 't know him, my brother Greg served 8 years with the
101st Airborne. As you can tell, he has little use for politicians generally,
    but he earned the right.

    Jeff"

that may be as close as the two of us have been in my entire life. I know, it sounds odd, but I found it very touching. He also had to explain his insane brother, but I think we've all been there. I go grab some couch now.

A Greek Orthodox priest has been found slain after being kidnapped near the Syrian capital of Damascus, the Syrian government and the Vatican news service reported Thursday.

The body of the Rev. Fadi Jamil Haddad, pastor of St. Elias Church in Qatana, outside Damascus, was discovered in the Jaramana district of the capital, reported Agenzia Fides, the Vatican news service. The site was not far from the area where he was kidnapped by an "unidentified armed group" last Friday, the agency said.

The Vatican agency quoted a colleague saying the priest had been "horribly tortured." http://www.aina.org/news/20121026214646.htm

"Are you not Muslims?" demanded Sheikh Abdel Moneim El-Shahat, during his sermon in the Montazara district of Alexandria.

"Don't you take part in prayers, give Zakat [charity], and kill animals for the festival?" he continued.

"So why are you fighting Sharia law? Why do you stand in the way of its application?"

El-Shahat went on to claim that liberals were undermining the efforts of Egypt's Constituent Assembly to introduce Islamic law. http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/56569/Egypt/Politics-/Alexandria-Salafists-open-fire-on-liberals,-striki.aspx

    Jordan's Next Leader?
With Help from the U.S. Department of State http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/3413/jordan-next-leader

It might be helpful now to start wondering what sort of ideas Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood, and its leader, Controller General Sheikh Hamam Sai'd, will advance if they seize power in Jordan -- possibly with the blessing and encouragement of the United States.

    in my e-mail:

Dear Friend of America's Survival, Inc.:

Heard the news? — the Romney Campaign has announced "Arab-Americans for Romney."

Of special note: Samah Norquist (Grover's wife) and David-Imad Ramadan of Virginia.

    Read the rest here.

    Frank Gaffney reports:
"The Muslim Brotherhood was helped in its efforts to achieve information dominance over the George W. Bush administration, thanks to collaboration between a top Muslim Brotherhood operative, Abdurahman Alamoudi, and anti-tax activist Grover Norquist. In addition to al Qaeda financier Alamoudi, Norquist helped mainstream in the Bush campaign and/or administration five other Muslims with extensive ties to the Muslim Brotherhood."

I take a look at Obama's and Romney's internationalism in this new column, "'Alger Hiss Day' a Reminder of U.N.'s Anti-Americanism." Romney has seemingly endorsed the U.N.'s International Criminal Court.

I know I will be criticized by some Romney supporters for simply reporting this information. But I believe you have a right to know.

  164. Precious historical artifacts like the Wright Brothers airplane patent, the bombing maps for the nuclear attack on Japan, the original eyewitness radio report of the Hindenburg disaster and photos taken by the astronauts on the moon are just some of the items stolen from our National Archives. So much of our past has been pocketed by thieves that the National Archives has formed a recovery team to get them back. Bob Simon reports on this alarming trend -- and the conman now serving seven years in prison for the largest theft of historic artifacts in U.S. history -- in a 60 Minutes report to be broadcast Sunday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Well I just got the high school update for the week from #2 son, the 14 year old freshman. A kid walks in on two kids having sex in a bathroom during school hours. So what is his first instinct? Take a picture with his smartphone and post it on Twitter. Which he does. It goes viral, natch, many retweets and 80 "favorites" at last report says #2 son. Their faces are visible. Scandal ensues, they are suspended and going to continuation school (they call it LEO here, not sure what that stands for).

The kids are allowed to bring their smartphones, tablets and whatnot to school this year for the first time in a change of policy. #2 son does not think this policy will continue next year.

Tell me about it. My kid is incredibly appalled of course. He doesn't do Facebook, Twitter or any of that. He does find his iPhone useful for jotting down homework assignments, research etc., which are the "approved uses". But abuse is rampant naturally, he says most of his peers are updating their Facebook every 5 minutes. This incident did open the door to an excellent father-son discussion of a number of things.

The Arab Spring has brought the Muslim Brotherhood to power in Tunisia and Egypt, and may yet in Libya and Syria. Observers have speculated on how they will govern now that they finally lead governments where the practical problems of managing public affairs will confront them. But we need not speculate too much, since the Muslim Brotherhood has governed one country for 23 years: Sudan. Omar al-Bashir, president of Sudan, and Hasan al-Turabi (one of the pre-eminent Islamist theologians and political theorists of the past half century) are the leaders of Sudan's Muslim Brotherhood. Bashir took power in a coup in June 1989 planned and organized by Turabi.
