Abbas won't be pressured into talks with Israel
"For sure, we won't submit to pressures. For example, if they say `come and then we'll see, come.' No, we won't accept. Regarding the peace talks, this is our position, even if someone, if anyone in the world, says `you're wrong,'" he said.EU hails new US openness to Iran
Abbas also rejected previous Israeli demands that Palestinians not only recognize the state of Israel — as Abbas and others have — but recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
He said it's not his job to define the state of Israel. "Name yourself, it's not my business," he said. "All I know is that there is the state of Israel, in the borders of 1967, not one centimeter more, not one centimeter less. Anything else, I don't accept."

First Russia-US START talks 'very productive'
Hey wait a minute. I know I never know what day it is but it ain't frikkin' May yet - how TF can the talks that never happened be very productive already?
Russia starts construction of oil pipeline to China
The first Russia-U.S. talks on a new strategic arms reduction deal to replace the START treaty, which expires in December, were very productive, a deputy Russian foreign minister said Monday.
The negotiations were held on Friday in Rome.
"The meeting of experts in Rome was very productive, and we expect the continuation of these talks in the very near future," Sergei Ryabkov said.
The Strategic Arms Reductions Treaty (START 1), signed in 1991, obliges Russia and the United States to reduce nuclear warheads to 6,000 and their delivery vehicles to 1,600 each. The treaty expires on December 5 this year.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said in Helsinki last week that any new deal to replace START 1 must also cover delivery systems.

Masquerade Eclipses Kazakhstan's Media Problems At Annual Forum
That might look like a paradox, unless you knew that the April 23-24 forum was organized by Dariga Nazarbaeva, the daughter of Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbaev. The preparations, the opening ceremony, the two-day discussions were all designed to make it look like a typical big international event, no less than the film festival in Nice or the Academy Awards.Nice crew. Gee I wonder what all these fuckos could possibly have in common, and WHO TF is Niall Fergusson anyway? I'll tell you! He's a Super Caliphabulous Glow Ballin' MFer.
The highlight of the forum was the hostess receiving her guests. This year those guests included Harvard University professor Niall Fergusson, British parliamentarian George Galloway, and Russian economist Mikhail Khasin, none of whom is likely to be a household name to the people of Kazakhstan.
He is best known outside academia for his revisionist views rehabilitating imperialism and colonialism; within academia, his championing of counterfactual history is a subject of some considerable controversy. In 2008, Allen Lane published his most recent book, The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World which he also presented as a Channel 4 television series.Counterfactual History? WTF?
In 2003, former United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger provided Ferguson with access to Kissinger's White House diaries, letters, and archives for what Ferguson calls a "warts-and-all biography" of the man.
Counterfactual history, also sometimes referred to as virtual history, is a recent form of historiography which attempts to answer "what if" questions known as counterfactuals. It seeks to explore history and historical incidents by means of extrapolating a timeline in which certain key historical events did not happen or had an outcome which was different from that which did in fact occur. Please, never forget that Glorious Khazakstan is home to the Glow Ball's first Official State UFO Embassy:
....Currently it is generally accepted that aliens are making use of an underwater UFO base in the Caspian Sea which Kazakhstan borders......
The Republic of Kazakhstan in Central Asia is in the process of building the world’s first alien embassy according to some local media reports. If these reports are to be believed, the authorities have already allocated a large plot of land in the city of Almaty for this ambitious project. Facilities to be built within the complex will include a guesthouse, theatre and translation service. A purpose built UFO landing pad and checkpoint will be attached to the embassy.Kazakhstan ready to accede to Missile Technology Control Regime
Kazakhstan’s government believes open contact with aliens is imminent and by being the first nation to specifically create such facilities they are convinced they will reap enormous financial and economic rewards. The Kazakhstan Government also see this as a chance to demonstrate their nations forward thinking policies.
OK I read it and I still don't know WTF it means.
According to him, participation in the MTCR activity is topical as long as the country has Baikonur rocket and space complex and intends to develop the national space program. But now I do...... kinda...
He noted that Kazakhstan had done much to bring the legislation in the area of export controls in full conformity with international law. Kazakhstan is a party to all agreemts that form the basis of the international non-prolifiration regime as well as a party to 13 international conventions on combating terrorism, including the Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism.
Tatarstan companies offer investment projects to Turkmenistan
The Missile Technology Control Regime is an informal and voluntary association of countries which share the goals of non-proliferation of unmanned delivery systems capable of delivering weapons of mass destruction, and which seek to coordinate national export licensing efforts aimed at preventing their proliferation. The MTCR was originally established in 1987 by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. Since that time, the number of MTCR partners has increased to a total of thirty-four countries, all of which have equal standing within the Regime.
The MTCR was initiated partly in response to the increasing proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), i.e., nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. The risk of proliferation of WMD is well recognized as a threat to international peace and security, including by the UN Security Council in its Summit Meeting Declaration of January 31, 1992. While concern has traditionally focussed on state proliferators, after the tragic events of 11 September 2001, it became evident that more also has to be done to decrease the risk of WMD delivery systems falling into the hands of terrorist groups and individuals. One way to counter this threat is to maintain vigilance over the transfer of missile equipment, material, and related technologies usable for systems capable of delivering WMD.
The MTCR rests on adherence to common export policy guidelines (the MTCR Guidelines) applied to an integral common list of controlled items (the MTCR Equipment, Software and Technology Annex). All MTCR decisions are taken by consensus, and MTCR partners regularly exchange information about relevant national export licensing issues.
National export licensing measures on these technologies make the task of countries seeking to achieve capability to acquire and produce unmanned means of WMD delivery much more difficult. As a result, many countries, including all MTCR partners, have chosen voluntarily to introduce export licensing measures on rocket and other unmanned air vehicle delivery systems or related equipment, material and technology.
The current Chairman of the Regime is Mr John Quinn of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Barack Obama's Trip to Turkey
The boldfaced Hussein is not a misprint. For days before and since Obama’s visit, a quick glance at the Turkish newspapers or television might lead you to believe that Hussein was Obama’s only name. It is ironic that during the presidential election, Obama and company successfully managed to almost completely erase any trace of his middle name from the American consciousness because of the potential negative connotations it carried, but now that he is president, the name Hussein has became his ticket into the hearts of Muslims everywhere....Now this headline just cracked me up:

He's a fucking GENIUS I tells ya! He has a gift, Harry! SCIENCE!
It's not funny though...He is not being STUPID here, even though that's what it sounds like.... He is telegraphing an AGENDA
President Obama declared this morning that "science is more essential....than ever before" for the nation's security, health, and economy. And the proof, he said, is the swine flu outbreak that has killed more than 100 in Mexico and shown up in the United States, though with no fatalities yet. Obama told the National Academy of Sciences that he is closely monitoring the outbreak, which he called a "cause for concern, but not a cause for alarm." The public health emergency was declared Sunday as a precaution, he said, to make sure officials have everything they need to contain the illness.

These linked exercises are referred to as National Level Exercise 2-08 (NLE 2-08). The exercise takes place May 1-8 with a wide range of participants from federal and state departments and agencies.
Planning for NLE 2-08 began in late spring 2007 and is designed to achieve the following objectives:
- Exercise and evaluate federal government continuity capabilities and management of emergencies from dispersed locations.
- Exercise our response to terrorist WMDs threat and attack capabilities with integration of Defense Support of Civil Authorities; and
- Exercise hurricane preparedness and response capabilities.

Littered, even! With discarded Hopium hypos and empty Change purses....
Given all the hoopla and high expectations surrounding the new president, it's easy to overlook how he has shifted since the election in both tone and substance. As we approach the 100-day mark of his presidency, Barack Obama has broken or bent many tenets of his campaign, including promises on war, spending and good government.Oy, the Hopium seems to be wearing off.....
In terms of tone, Obama promised to be a hope-filled change agent who could fix our politics and "heal a nation." He would do it by refusing to appoint lobbyists to his administration, increasing transparency in government, and forging new bipartisan consensus. His campaign promised to strengthen government checks and balances by limiting the use of presidential signing statements, mandating public review of legislation, and vetoing wasteful congressional earmarks.
Yet none of those promises survived his first 100 days. Even before he was sworn in, Obama picked several lobbyists for top administration jobs, including major cabinet deputy secretaries. When challenged to explain and produce the waivers that permitted those nominations, the administration dragged its feet, bending only after embarrassing questions from the White House press corps.
The promise-breaking did not stop with the inauguration. Soon after he was sworn in, the president signed an earmark-laden spending bill with virtually no bipartisan support or public review - and then promptly issued a signing statement.

On Monday, military experts and Crime Tracker 3 got access to images and information which has never been made public before. They're putting on protective suits, but there' no danger.

Every local law enforcement agency has at least one officer on the team. "It is a foreign concept to a lot of agencies," explains Detective Rick Breeden. That unusual teamwork is one reason the Army is here to study ARMOR.

Squanderer in chief
At a stop on his grand global apology tour this spring, President Obama was asked by a reporter in France if he believed in "American exceptionalism." This is the notion that our history as the world's oldest democracy, our immigrant founding and our devotion to liberty endow the United States with a unique, providential role in world affairs.Student Ambassador Program Unveils Historic Obama/Lincoln Educational Travel Experience
Rather than endorse the proposition -- as every president in recent memory has done one way or another -- Obama offered a strange response: "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism."
The descendants of Lincoln should strenuously object to this craven appropriation of his Name in juxtaposition to the Obamanable's. That's serious some thieving ass Gravitasmosis right there!

The program features unique insight from NBC News correspondent Luke Russert, who reports on youth issues for NBC Nightly News, The Today Show and MSNBC; and political strategist David Plouffe , best known as the chief campaign manager for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
Students taking part in this historic travel experience will also participate in a community service project with Chicago Cares, the city's largest hands-on volunteer organization that serves the needs of children, adults, seniors, the environment, the hungry and homeless. "We developed this historic summer program based on overwhelming customer interest following the success of our Inaugural Program," said Peg Thomas , president People to People Ambassador Programs. "In today's difficult economy, families asked us for alternative travel experiences for students to learn and grow, with perhaps shorter time frames.
We feel this compelling new program fills that need and more. Those who take advantage of this opportunity will get an inside look at Presidents Obama and Lincoln, hear from experts they can relate to and learn practical ways to instill change in their own communities." Presidential Leadership: In the Footsteps of Presidents Obama and Lincoln takes place August 2-8, 2009 on the campus of the University of Chicago with a day-trip to Springfield, Illinois . The program is available to students from the sixth grade up to juniors in college. Students can earn 10 service-learning hours during the program with an additional 55 classroom hours for high school students or one social studies credit for college students.
An atheist group is planning to recruit school kids to teach them how to damage religious activity in schools. Children will be encouraged to undermine the role of Christian assemblies and the way RE is taught. They will also be trained to lobby local authorities about these issues. The National Federation of Atheist, Humanist and Secular Student Societies (AHS) will launch the recruitment drive in the summer. It will coincide with an atheist summer camp for kids. Spontaneous Swine Flu Combustion on Swiss Train
You simply can not make this shit up!
In Switzerland, a parcel containing cultures of the swine flu virus H1N1 has exploded in a train. The cultures were intended for a research centre in Geneva. They are not related to the mutation of the virus that has recently claimed the lives of 150 people in Mexico. Although two people in the train were slightly injured in the explosion, the Swiss authorities say there is no danger of infection.GOD's a funny guy.
The cultures had been packed in dry ice to keep them cold. Investigators believe the explosion was caused by excessive pressure in the parcel.
