L’Chaim!
And that is all.

In this life I've seen everything I can see woman,
I've seen lovers flying through the air hand in hand
I've seen babies dancing in the midnight sun,
And I've seen dreams that came
from the heavenly skies above
I've seen old men crying at their own grave site
And I've seen pigs all sitting watching, picture slides
But I never seen nothing like you.
Do ya do ya want my love, woman
Do ya do ya want my face, I need it
Do ya do ya want my mind, I'm sayin'
Do ya do ya want my love
Well I, heard the crowd singin' out of tune,
As they, sat and sang Auld Lang Syne
by the light of the moon
I heard the preachers bangin' on the drums,
And I heard the police playin' with their guns
But I never heard nothin' like you.
In the country where the sky touches down
On the field, she lay her down to rest
In the morning sun,
They come a 'runnin' just to get a look, just to
Feel, to touch her long black hair
they don't give a damn
Do Ya?
Well I think you know
what I'm trying to say to you woman,
That is I'd like to save you for a rainy day,
I've seen enough of the world to know,
That I've got to get it all to get it all to grow.
Do ya do ya want my love, c'mon now
Do ya do ya want my face, I need it
Do ya do ya want my mind, alright now
Do ya do ya want my love, look out!
Life's a strain of painful things to be overcome
We mark the mile by our trials and suffer everyone
But hold them near and keep them dear and don't be ashamed
Trials of the world are all heaven's pearls
Trials of the world are all heaven's pearls
We gather scars from tangled bars that catch under the skin
The friction burns as they turn working deeper in
But day by day sharp edges fade, smooth, burnished and fine
Trials of the world are all heaven's pearls
Those who are wise
will shine like the brightness of the heavens,
and those who lead many to righteousness,
like the stars for ever and ever. ~ Daniel 12
Early in the morning
When the church bells toll
The choir's gonna sing
And the hearse will roll
On down to the graveyard
Where it's cold and gray
And then the sun's gonna shine
Through the shadows
When I go away
Don't want no sorrow
For this old orphan boy
I don't want no crying
Only tears of joy
I'm gonna see my mother
Gonna see my father
And I'll be bound for glory
In the morning
When I go away
I'll be lifted up to the clouds
On the wings of angels
There's only flesh and bones
In the ground
Where my troubles will stay
See that storm over yonder
It's gonna rain all day
But then the sun's gonna shine
Through the shadows
When I go away
(I'm going home - Lift me up)
When I go away
(No more trouble - I'm going home)
(Lift me up - When I go away)
No more crying
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more trials
(I'm going home)
Home to leave my worries in the ground
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more troubles
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more crying
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more trials
(I'm going home)
Home to leave my worries in the graveyard
Home to leave my troubles in the graveyard
Home to leave my trials
And I'll be bound for glory
In the morning
When I go away
All my kin who love me
All my friends who care
Look beyond the dark clouds
We're gonna meet up there
When they lay me in the cold ground
Bow your heads and pray
(Bow your heads and pray)
And I'll be bound for glory
In the morning
When I go away
And then the sun's gonna shine
Through the shadows
When I go away
(I'm going home - Lift me up)
When I go away
(No more trouble - I'm going home)
(Lift me up - When I go away)
No more crying
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more trials
(I'm going home)
Home to leave my worries in the graveyard
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more troubles
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more crying
(I'm going home - Lift me up - When I go away)
No more trials
(I'm going home)
Home to leave my worries in the graveyard
Home to leave my troubles in the graveyard
Home to leave my trials
And I'll be bound for glory
In the morning
When I go away
And then the sun's gonna shine
Through the shadows
When I go away
Ah, when I go away
When I go away
(When I go away)
When I go away
(When I go away)
When I go away
Vindicate me, my GOD, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked. You are GOD my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy? Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Then I will go to the altar of GOD, to GOD, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, Oh GOD, my God. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in GOD, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my GOD. ~ Psalm 43
Odd Man Out - 1947 Director: Carol Reed Starring: James Mason, Robert Newton & Cyril Cusack
Fantastic film ostensibly about a botched burglary staged by Irish revolutionaries and sold as an exciting film noir, which it is if that is all you want from it. However this film is not truly about burglary or the IRA, it is not even a political statement it is a morality play. What this film is truly about is how a variety of people treat a condemned and dying man in the last 8 hours or so of his life. It is about what goes on inside his head ... it is about compassion ... it is about the lack of compassion - It is about redemption - and the denial of redemption. It is about hope despair love life death
There are aspects to the visuals that are important to take note of, shadows of crosses here and there, the rain that turns to snow as the film progresses that becomes steadier heavier and harder through to the end, the isolation the COLD... the distance from GOD... Pay attention to the scene near to the end where he is with the painter and the paintings come to life with the priest among them - he is reciting the bible in this scene...
See the film. It will vastly improve your character.
When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them, then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance. ~ 2 Chronicles 6
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. So go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners.” ~ Matthew 9
