The Left is champing at the bit to go single payer, even before Obama Care has begun. The employer mandate has been delayed and thousands of exemptions have been granted. Of the major provisions, only the individual mandate and fines remain, and even they may be delayed. But the liberals say: Let’s change the venue and the rules before the game even starts.

New York doctors are treating ObamaCare like the plague, a new survey reveals.

A poll conducted by the New York State Medical Society finds that 44 percent of MDs said they are not participating in the nation's new health-care plan.

Another 33 percent say they're still not sure whether to become ObamaCare providers.

Only 23 percent of the 409 physicians queried said they're taking patients who signed up through health exchanges.

"This is so poorly designed that a lot of doctors are afraid to participate," said Dr. Sam Unterricht, president of the 29,000-member organization. "There's a lot of resistance. Doctors don't know what they're going to get paid."

Three out of four doctors who are participating in the program said they "had to participate" because of existing contractual obligations with an insurer or medical provider, not because they wanted to.

Only one in four "affirmatively" chose to sign up for the exchanges.

Obama Care wants to start right away, but who see all these new patients???? Not me," e-mailed one doc.

Another said, "I plan to retire if this disaster is implemented. This is a train wreck."

"I refuse to participate in the exchange plans! I am completely opposed to this new law," said a third respondent.

One doctor recycled the mantra used to attack addictions: "The solution is simple: Just say no."

One physician was so disgusted, he threatened to taken only cash patients going forward.

"I am seriously considering opting out of all insurance plans including Medicare because of [ObamaCare]."

Some physicians said the pressure on insurance carriers to control costs is leading to rationed care.

"OBAMACARE is a disaster. I have already seen denial of medication, denial of referrals," one doc said.

  61. My biggest problem with it is Lee isn't arguing that government can not and should not try to solve all of the problems he identifies or that the country faces. At least that's not the overriding theme of the speech. He offers policy ideas where I'd personally prefer a candidate to say, "Government can NOT do anything about this! Stop believing people who say it can".

    An example from Lee's speech...
The federal government also needs to open up America’s transportation system to diversity and experimentation, so that Americans can spend more time with their families in more affordable homes, and less time stuck in maddening traffic.

What? Are you nuts? The federal government is going to make your commute easier and quicker? Who is giving this speech, a leading conservative or Dennis Kucinich?

But then you look at his policy suggestion.

Under our bill, the federal gas tax would be phased down over five years from 18.4 cents per gallon, to 3.7 cents. And highway authority would be transferred proportionately from the federal government to the states.

Under our new system, Americans would no longer have to send significant gas- tax revenue to Washington, where sticky-fingered politicians, bureaucrats, and lobbyists take their cut before sending it back with strings attached. Instead, states and cities could plan, finance, and build better-designed and more affordable projects.

Some communities could choose to build more roads, while others might prefer to repair old ones. Some might build highways, others light-rail. And all would be free to experiment with innovative green technologies, and new ways to finance their projects, like congestion pricing and smart tolls.

But the point is that all states and localities should finally have the flexibility to develop the kind of transportation system they want, for less money, without politicians and special interests from other parts of the country telling them how, when, what, and where they should build.

For the country as a whole, our plan would mean a better infrastructure system, new jobs and opportunities, diverse localism, and innovative environmental protection.

And for working families, it could mean more access to quality, affordable homes, less time on the road... and making it home in time for dinner with the kids.

Oh. That's actually a radical small government notion. He just couched it in big government, low-information voter terms (the all important "Cares about people like me" standard).

    That's...wonderfully sneaky.

“If you truly love someone that you think needs to be in rehab, you’ll do everything you possibly can to get them into rehab,” Blatty says. The last straw, he says, was Georgetown’s invitation of Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, to be a commencement speaker in May of last year. Sebelius has a record of supporting abortion rights, and abortion is the issue that really sets Blatty’s nerves on fire.

He describes, his voice trembling, a particular abortion procedure in graphic detail.

He pauses. His voice is nearly a whisper.

    “That’s demonic.”

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A judge has denied a Southern California factory town's attempt to shut down production of the popular Sriracha chili sauce over complaints about the pungent smell of pepper and garlic fumes emanating from the factory.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert O'Brien rejected the city of Irwindale's initial bid Thursday to cease operations at the Huy Fong Foods plant until the company can reduce the odor, City News Service reported.

"You're asking for a very radical order on 24-hour notice," O'Brien told attorney June Ailin, representing the city.

Barry Obama...see I told you they would love it.............
CBS News) WASHINGTON - For 31 days now, the Obama administration has been telling us that Americans by the millions are visiting the new health insurance website, despite all its problems.

But no one in the administration has been willing to tell us how many policies have been purchased, and this may be the reason: CBS News has learned enrollments got off to an incredibly slow start.

Early enrollment figures are contained in notes from twice-a-day "war room" meetings convened within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services after the website failed on Oct. 1. They were turned over in response to a document request from the House Oversight Committee.

The website launched on a Tuesday. Publicly, the government said there were 4.7 million unique visits in the first 24 hours. But at a meeting Wednesday morning, the war room notes say "six enrollments have occurred so far."

They were with BlueCross BlueShield North Carolina and Kansas City, CareSource and Healthcare Service Corporation.

Wrong storage. The insurance companies would not stand for it. Obamacare is their biggest gravy train ever and they will never give it up now. I've been paying my own way with health insurance forever. Next year I will have to limit my income or jack up my expenses to make sure I can get a subsidy, or else go uninsured. $7500 direct from Uncle Sam to my insurance company. Multiply that by millions like me. Do you think the insurance companies will lose all that for single payer? Not when they have the best politicians money can buy.. not a chance.

  103. There is this blonde teenager, who decides she wants to earn some money in her local neighborhood. So she starts going door-to-door, asking if there are any odd-jobs she could do. She gets to one house, and the man who answers the door says to her "Well, yes, there is a job you could do. I've been meaning to paint the porch. What would you charge for that?" The blond says, "I would charge you $50". So he says it's a deal, and tells her that everything she needs is in the garage. He goes to tell his wife about the good deal he has made, but the wife shows a little concern, because the porch wraps around two sides of the house, and the girl may not have realized what she was taking on. The husband berates her, saying that just because the young girl was blonde didn't mean she was stupid. His wife quickly agrees, and goes upstairs. About two hours later, the blonde teenager is back at the front door. She says she is finished, and there had actually been enough paint to put on two coats. The man is very happy, and actually gives her $75 for having finished so quickly. As the teenager is pocketing her money, she says "You know, it isn't a porch. It's a Volvo."

Single payer would be a vast improvement over the mess we have now. As would a system where everybody who can pays their own way and the government pays directly for the very sick and the very poor. What we have now is the worst of all worlds. Everything run through private insurance, with maximum government regulation, corporate profits guaranteed and collection enforcement courtesy of the IRS. Couldn't devise a worse health care delivery system if you tried.

  106. comment stolen elsewhere;

    This is from my brother:

"I'm an Insurance Agent in Washington State. One thing nobody yet has caught in the media with the Affordable Care Act "Obamacare" is the issue with Cost Sharing Reductions or "CSR's". CSRs are basically an additional subsidy to the Premium Reduction Subsidies which are paid by the Tax payers that everyone seems to be concentrating on. But that is only part of the subsidies.

CSR's are basically paid for by higher Income Policy Holder's subsidizing the lowering of Deductibles and out of pocket maximums for lower income policy holders. These lower CSRs come at the expense of those that have higher incomes. Not the wealthy, but everyone that is 250% above the Poverty index which includes the middle class.

Example. A couple In their early 50's making $65,000 a year and not eligible for a tax payer premium subsidies or CSRs would get hit with a $10,000 annual premium and a $12,000 Family Deductible PLUS a $12,000 family out of pocket maximum Co-Pay after the Deductible. They are basically subsidizing another couple of the same age who make $30,000 a year, so they can have the same policy coverage but only pay a $1,632 annual premium, after premium subsidies, and after the CSR is calculated, a $1,500 family annual deductible and a $2,200 annual family out of pocket co-pay. The only difference between the two couples is their income. The couple who makes $65,000 a year is never given the option of purchasing the lower deductible plan. They are in a sense being coerced into subsidizing the lower income couple in the very same plan of coverage to get the same coverage but with lower deductibles and out of pocket expenses in the same risk pool, but based solely on income.

This is nothing more than a major transfer of wealth between policy holders in the risk pool based solely on income. This is a big hit on the lower middle class who don't get a subsidy of their premiums or their out of pocket deductibles and co-pays. "From each according to their ability to each according to their need" - Karl Marx

In addition my 85 year old Mother recently got a notice that her Medicare Advantage has been cancelled and she needs to choose a new plan. Problem is her Doctor will not take on any of the new plans as the new plans have lowered substantially the reimbursements to the Doctor, which was one of the ways Obama said he was coming up with funds to pay for Obamacare. My Mother is now forced to find coverage that is equivalent to her old plan and find a new Doctor who takes the new plans. Problem is most Doctors are not taking on new Medicare patients and the network of providers under the new plans are small. In order for her to keep her Doctor she has only one choice, a PPO Medicare Plan that she can purchase that has substantially lower coverage and does not have prescription drugs and other coverage that she had before."

Chinese calculations for nuclear attacks on the U.S. are chillingly macabre.

“Because the Midwest states of the U.S. are sparsely populated, in order to increase the lethality, [our] nuclear attacks should mainly target the key cities on the West Coast of the United States, such as Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego,” the Global Times said.

    Gen 4:

2 And [next] she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3 And in the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground.

4 And Abel brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat portions. And the Lord had respect and regard for Abel and for his offering,

5 But for [a]Cain and his offering He had no respect or regard. So Cain was exceedingly angry and indignant, and he looked sad and depressed.

6 And the Lord said to Cain, Why are you angry? And why do you look sad and depressed and dejected?

7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.

2 Thus, whenever you give to the poor, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites in the synagogues and in the streets like to do, that they may be [b]recognized and honored and praised by men. Truly I tell you, they have their reward [c]in full already.

3 But when you give to charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 So that your deeds of charity may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly.

5 Also when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward [d]in full already.

6 But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.

25 Therefore I tell you, stop being [v]perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?

26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?

27 And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the [w]span of his life?

28 And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and [x]learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.

29 Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his [y]magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these.

You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax[a] to Caesar or not?”

18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”

    21 “Caesar’s,” they replied.

Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

Romans 13 "Those rulers are working for God

All of you must obey the government rulers. Everyone who rules was given the power to rule by God. And all those who rule now were given that power by God. 2 So anyone who is against the government is really against something God has commanded. Those who are against the government bring punishment on themselves. 3 People who do right don’t have to fear the rulers. But those who do wrong must fear them. Do you want to be free from fearing them? Then do only what is right, and they will praise you.

Rulers are God’s servants to help you. But if you do wrong, you have reason to be afraid. They have the power to punish, and they will use it. They are God’s servants to punish those who do wrong. 5 So you must obey the government, not just because you might be punished, but because you know it is the right thing to do.

And this is why you pay taxes too. Those rulers are working for God, and they give all their time to the work of ruling. 7 Give everyone what you owe them. If you owe them any kind of tax, then pay it. Show respect to those you should respect. And show honor to those you should honor.
