The Framers of the Bill of Rights did not intend to ‘create’ rights. Rather, they designed the Bill of Rights to prohibit our Government from infringing rights and liberties presumed to be preexisting. Former Supreme Court Justice, William J. Brennan, Jr.

No matter what “law” has been passed by any Congress, no matter what “judgment” has been pronounced by any court and no matter what enforcement has ever been authorized by any Administration, if these acts violated or overstepped the restrictions laid down in the Constitution or Bill of Rights, they were unlawful, injudicious and unauthorized.

Years later, Madison again urged the American people to guard against the expanse of government by invoking the principles underlying the revolution. He wrote:

The people of the U.S. owe their independence & their liberty, to the wisdom of descrying in the minute tax of 3 pence on tea, the magnitude of the evil comprised in the precedent. Let them exert the same wisdom, in watching against every evil lurking under plausible disguises, and growing up from small beginnings.

a relative of mine, Thomas Lynch. My older brother has his silver baby spoon and some of his papers.

Like two of the three other South Carolina signers, Heyward and Middleton, Thomas Lynch, Jr., was an aristocratic planter. But, despite his wealth and social position, he experienced one of the most tragic lives of all the signers. He was stricken by illness in the midst of his political and military labors for his State, never fully recovered his health, and perished at sea in his 30th year. He died at a younger age than any other signer, though a couple succumbed at an earlier date. He was also the second youngest in the group, next to fellow South Carolinian Edward Rutledge.

this country has become too ignorant to maintain a Republic as our founding fathers had intended. this makes me very sad. I feel that I've contributed in my own way, but have come up short. It was all for naught. A grand experiment while it lasted.

Today I grieve the end of a beautiful vision and willful ignorance of a once great nation. I grieve the insult and lack of appreciation of those great men who gave all for a nation no longer willing or interested in preserving the Republic as was intended.

Chai Tea Recalled for Botulism Risk

    By News Desk | July 1, 2013

A Washington state company is recalling its chai tea because the beverage was improperly processed and therefore has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum bacteria.

Harmony Chai of Eastsound, WA issued a voluntary recall of its concentrated black spiced and decaffeinated roobius chai teas Friday after testing by the Washington State Department of Agriculture revealed the product had not been processed in a way that prevents Clostridium botulinum contamination.

We are deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsy and suspend the Egyptian constitution. I now call on the Egyptian military to move quickly and responsibly to return full authority back to a democratically elected civilian government as soon as possible through an inclusive and transparent process, and to avoid any arbitrary arrests of President Morsy and his supporters. Given today’s developments, I have also directed the relevant departments and agencies to review the implications under U.S. law for our assistance to the Government of Egypt.http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/obama-issues-statement-warning-against-arrest-of-morsi-and-brotherhood-members/

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said on Wednesday Turkey should not join the European Union as it was not part of Europe, bluntly underlining Berlin's opposition to the long-running membership bid.

Germany pressed the 28-member bloc to delay a new round of membership talks last week, in response to Ankara's crackdown on anti-government protesters.

Brussels postponed the discussions for at least four months, but said the path to Turkey's membership was still open.

"We should not accept Turkey as a full member ... Turkey is not part of Europe," Schaeuble said at an election rally by his and Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrat (CDU) party in the western German city of Duesseldorf.

Germany and France have always had concerns about allowing a largely Muslim country of 76 million people into the bloc, fearing that Turkey's cultural differences and its size will make it too difficult to integrate.

DUBAI - The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait congratulated Adli Mansour after he was sworn in as Egypt's new interim leader on Thursday, a day after the military overthrew Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi.

Most Gulf Arab states, rattled by the rise of Islamists in the Middle East, watched with relief as the Egyptian army stepped in to try to end the most serious crisis in the Arab world's most populous country since President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in 2011.

"We followed with all consideration and satisfaction the national consensus that your brotherly country is witnessing, and which had played a prominent role in leading Egypt peacefully out of the crisis it had faced," UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan said in a cable to Mansour.

Kuwait's ruler Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah congratulated Egypt's interim president and people. The KUNA state news agency said Sheikh Sabah praised Egypt's armed forces for the "positive and historic role" it played in preserving stability http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/UAE-Kuwait-congratulate-Egypts-Mansour-318750

CAIRO (AP) - Princess Fawzia, a member of Egypt's last royal family and the first wife of Iran's later-deposed monarch, has died, Iranian opposition groups said. She was 92.

Fawzia died Tuesday in Egypt's Mediterranean port city of Alexandria, the Paris-based opposition groups said, but no cause of death was immediately known.

She was the daughter of Egyptian King Fuad I, who ruled until 1936. Her brother and nephew later rose to the throne before the monarchy was toppled in 1953.

In 1939, Fawzia married Iran's then-crown prince, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was overthrown in the 1979 Islamic Revolution. They divorced in 1945 after having one daughter.

Fawzia remarried in 1949 to an Egyptian army officer.

She was to be buried Wednesday in Cairo.

A general lesson of history is that it’s a bad idea to resent your fellow countrymen so much that you want to import some foreigners to put them in their place.

For instance, this didn’t really work out for the 12th-century Irish warlord who thought it would be a great idea to get the upper hand in an internecine struggle by inviting some Norman English knights over to help him. These were Vikings who had conquered a chunk of France and then all of England—in other words, some seriously scary guys. It took until 1922 merely to get their descendants to give back southern Ireland.

Conversely, Lincoln’s detractors like to portray him as a power-mad dictator. Yet his actions during the crucial months in which the Civil War might have been averted are most redolent of a crafty small-town lawyer who was badly in over his head in his new role. Lincoln worked hard and learned fast, but by the time he was ready for his job, the worst catastrophe in American history was underway.

  82. Today, more than 43 NGO representatives were found guilty of operating illegally in Egypt and the organizations offices will be closed immediately and their assets seized. Among them, 16 are Americans, according to the report from USA Today. The State Department has deemed the trial as “politically motivated” and running counter to their “transition to democracy” in a statement from John Kerry. More proof that our State Dept was, and still is, out of touch, since they believed that Egypt was ever considering transitioning into a democracy.

The problem of NGO’s operating illegally in Egypt goes back to before the Arab Spring and the jumping off of protests in Cairo and Alexandria in 2011. The crackdown on NGO’s started in Egypt a year earlier when youth groups first tried to set-off their revolutionary movement. It was then that the government of Egypt reacted and started gathering information on the groups operating inside of Egypt whose goal it was to depose then President Hosni Mubarak.

Morino also revealed that Nuttall, born in 1974, is a "convert to Islam," according to the Associated Press. Although Morino did not know if Korody, born in 1983, had also converted, the Toronto Star reported that "[a]n acquaintance of Korody's from high school said she believed Korody converted to Islam about three years ago." When Nuttall and Korody first moved into the basement dwelling "he was not a practising Muslim, but converted to Islam about two years ago," the Vancouver Sun reported.

According to an agreement signed in Washington, DC last week between FEMA and the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, Russian troops can now be deployed to provide security at so-called “National Special Security Events,” such as the Super Bowl and G8 summits.

Minya - Among the episodes of violence in Egypt after the overthrow of President Morsi there is also the attack against the Coptic Catholic parish of St. George, in the village of Delgia, 60 kilometers from Minya. Since Wednesday evening, July 3 groups of fanatical Islamists first looted and then burned down the pastor's house and church group buildings. "Thank God there were no victims and injuries" says to Fides Agency the Coptic Catholic Bishop of Minya Botros Fahim Awad Hanna "but the alarm continues. The fundamentalists have closed the roads at the entrance to the village. They shout slogans against Christians, they say they want to destroy everything and now they are trying again to storm the church. The local police are helpless, I called Cairo to ask for the intervention of the army."

The attack on the parish of St. George is so far the most serious incident of violence against Christians recorded in the dramatic hours experienced by the Country. But threats and intimidation against Christian communities also occur in other Egyptian places.

This week's events showed how the US's strategy in Egypt has harmed America.

In 2011, the military acted to force Mubarak from power only after Obama called for them to do so. This week, the military overthrew Morsi and began rounding up his supporters in defiance of the White House.

Secretary of State John Kerry was the personification of the incredible shrinkage of America this week as he maintained his obsessive focus on getting Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians. In a Middle East engulfed by civil war, revolution and chronic instability, Israel is the only country at peace. The image of Kerry extolling his success in "narrowing the gaps" between Israel and the Palestinians before he boarded his airplane at Ben Gurion Airport as millions assembled to bring down the government of Egypt is the image of a small, irrelevant America.

And as the anti-American posters in Tahrir Square this week showed, America's self-induced smallness is a tragedy that will harm the region and endanger the US.

As far as Israel is concerned, all we can do is continue what we have been doing, and hope that at some point, the Americans will embrace our sound strategy.

After all, if barbeques and fireworks were the point of it all, we could conjure up any arbitrary reason for a day off. Instead of the Fourth of July, why not the Twenty-First of March. That was the day in 2010 when the 111th Congress of the United States defied both the expressed will of the people and every sentiment expressed in the Declaration of Independence by passing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, a law so damaging to the American pursuit of happiness that its implementation was postponed past the point when President Obama would stand for re-election and has recently been postponed past the point when Congress will face the people in 2014.

While at it, we can also sanctify the Twenty-Eighth of June. That was the day last year when Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts creatively rewrote the law through judicial fiat, turning the individual mandate from a penalty into a tax. He and the majority thus established a precedent whereby the federal government may punish both behavior and lack of behavior at a whim. The Bill of Rights be damned.

Obama seen crying in his cornflakes....................The spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, for long one of the most authoritative voices in Sunni Islam — and certainly a “radical,” who, among other things, insists Muslims must always “obey the prophet, even if he tells you to kill” — has just had his Qatari citizenship revoked and told to leave Qatar by its emir, Tamim bin Hamd bin al-Khalifa, in light of events in Egypt, specifically the overthrow of the Brotherhood and Morsi. Qaradawi has lived in Qatar for years, as he was exiled from Egypt under Mubarak for inciting terrorism. The emir has also ordered the closure of all Muslim Brotherhood offices in Qatar, adding “We are all Muslims [here], but we are not Muslim Brothers [i.e., of the Brotherhood].” Here, then, is yet another blow to the Muslim Brotherhood. http://www.raymondibrahim.com/from-the-arab-world/latest-blow-to-brotherhood-sheikh-qaradawi-evicted-from-qatar-brotherhood-offices-closed/

Egypt's Islamist leader vows to restore Morsi

    http://www.sfgate.com/news/world/article/Egypt-s-Islamist-leader-vows-to-restore-Morsi-4647819.php

Tens of thousands of Islamists streamed across a Nile River bridge toward Cairo's Tahrir Square on Friday, threatening a showdown moments after the top leader of the Muslim Brotherhood defiantly spoke before a cheering crowd of supporters, vowing to reinstate ousted President Mohammed Morsi and end military rule.

His fiery speech, with a military helicopter hovering overhead, came soon after army troops fired on a pro-Morsi rally and one protester was killed.

Everyone has experienced having an advert jingle or catchy slogan stuck in their head.

    But
a new concept is literally putting adverts straight into people's
skulls by using 'bone conduction - the transfer of sound to the inner
ear through the bones of the skull.

    Advertising agency BBDO is
using a combination of the concept and clever technology to allow
individual commuters to hear an advert in a noisy train carriage.

The company is harnessing technology to allow train windows to silently talk to commuters in a new product placement strategy.
