On May 1 2013, Occupy Portland dragged an idol of a Golden Bull down to O'Bryant Square. Dressed as Egyptian belly dancers they then proceeded to sing and dance about it.

    President Obama...there is no jihad............

Middle East- and North Africa-based criminal hackers are preparing cyberattacks this week against the websites of high-profile U.S. government agencies, banks and other companies, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

The attacks, dubbed #OpUSA, for Operation USA, will begin Tuesday, the department said in a warning bulletin circulated to the private sector last week. The bulletin was first obtained and posted online by blogger and cybercrime expert Brian Krebs.

AFP - Tens of thousands of people turned out for a protest in central Moscow on Monday marking one year since a demonstration ahead of Vladimir Putin's Kremlin inauguration ended in mass arrests, organisers said.

"The whole square is full. There are tens of thousands of us," prominent opposition figure Boris Nemtsov told a huge sea of people crammed into Bolotnaya Square across the Moscow river from the Kremlin.

Police however said only 6,000 were present at the start.

I didn’t have room in my title for the hymn abortionist Timothy Liveright sang to one patient during her abortion, “Jesus, Ohhhhh Jesus, take the sinners down the river, Ohhhh Jesus.” Seems to me that was meant as some sort of double entendre for the abortion he was committing. Jules Léotard (b. 1 March 1838 in Toulouse, d. 17 August 1870 in Toulouse) was a revolutionary French acrobatic performer who developed the art of trapeze. He also popularised the one-piece gymwear that now bears his name and was the inspiration for the 1867 song "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze" sung by George Leybourne.

  71. The average German family struggles financially with large tax burdens and as a result have only 1.3 children per family due to high financial costs. One of the lowest rates in Europe Meanwhile Muslim immigrants have as many as 3-4 wives, perhaps 6-7 children from each wife, and all of this is funded by welfare as none of these wives work. 35 % of Muslims living in Germany have multiple wives, nearly all of them live comfortably on welfare funded by German taxpayers. This is not only in Germany too, nearly all of Europe has the same situation, including the U.K, where Muslim men take overseas trips to pick up multiple wives, marry them and bring them back to the U.K as legal citizens who then go on permanent tax payer funded welfare for themselves and their future children.

It started with hair. Donning a pair of rubber gloves, Heather Dewey-Hagborg collected hairs from a public bathroom at Penn Station and placed them in plastic baggies for safe keeping. Then, her search expanded to include other types of forensic evidence. As the artist traverses her usual routes through New York City from her home in Brooklyn, down sidewalks onto city buses and subway cars—even into art museums—she gathers fingernails, cigarette butts and wads of discarded chewing gum.

Any surgery that involves anethesiology (SP?) has a certain level of risk involved. Particularly when your doctor is working on arteries and they will be tomorrow. I prepared letters to the wife, the kids, letters and notifications/mail to our parents, and emails to my brothers, friends, and colleagues. All financial information is secured and encrypted. Most likely none of those envelopes will ever need to be opened, but if they do need to be opened, I have left nothing undone. I've covered all bases and am pretty content with that.

It is that the President of the United States used all of the tools of power and conspired with his colleagues to propagate the Big Lie. It is a clear case of perjury. Of conspiracy. Of obstruction of justice.

In 1972 even Republicans were taken aback as the Watergate conspiracy unfolded before the country. A president was forced to resign. The Senate asked "What did he know and when did he know it?"

Now, confronted with the unnecessary deaths of four valorous citizens, a President stands before us having been responsible for the minimization of the threat from Al Q'aeda; for leaving the helm at 5:00pm as the victims were still fighting for their lives; for blaming an obscure video; for creating a mythology about that video; for altering official documents to cover up the reasons for the attack; and for covering up that attack in the face of all of the facts.

What kind of man does this? What kind of Secretary of State did this? What kind of Administration engages in the most base lies?

And what kind of People accepts this conduct?

“Libya has become AQIM’s headquarters,” says the intelligence source, adding that in just the last few weeks three new al Qaeda camps have opened in southern Libya.

The president of Chad, Idriss Déby, complained last week that Libya isn’t doing enough to prevent these fighters from using Libya as a training ground for new recruits, undermining security in the region. The Libyan government has denied the claims, saying there has been no influx of jihadists from Mali...............Of course not. There are also no Americans at Baghdad Airport and Hillary Clinton never received any calls for help from Benghazi. And the attack on Benghazi has not only not gone unpunished… but increased Al Qaeda’s stature and status in the area http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/obamas-liberated-libya-is-now-al-qaedas-hq/

Following alleged Israeli air strikes on Syria over the weekend, Syrian authorities were planning to allow Palestinian resistance factions to work across the Syrian border of the Golan Heights to carry out attacks against Israel, Syrian daily Al Watan reported Monday.

According to the report, the initiative was due to be discussed in upcoming meetings between Syria and Palestinian faction leaders, said Khalid Abd al-Majid, secretary- general of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front.

In light of recent developments, Syria had the "right and duty to respond using all available means," Majid was reported as saying. http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Report-Syria-to-permit-Palestinians-to-attack-from-Golan-312363

Their core concern is to facilitate the pursuit of Western-style democracy. Its members claim no affiliation with existing political parties, as the group states that it “aims only to stand against the Muslim Brotherhood and any group exploiting religion to achieve political goals.” As pro-democracy secularists using slogans such as, “Our mess prevents chaos” and, “We are confusion that prevents confusion,” their challenge to the Muslim Brotherhood has prompted a new crackdown by President Morsi and his Prime Minister, Hasham Kandil. The state now targets opposition protesters who wear black, tracking those who do and conducting investigations. By mid-February, Morsi began arresting members of Black Bloc and its sympathizers.

  127. Hillary Clinton — culpable for Benghazi from beginning to end

When it first became clear that the CIA’s Benghazi talking points had been altered, many of us viewed the White House as the prime suspect. After all, it served President Obama’s political purposes to claim, at the height of a political campaign in which he was taking credit for the fall of al Qaeda, that the death of a U.S. ambassador was down to spontaneous outrage over a video, rather than pre-planned terrorism.

  133. (CNSNews.com) – The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded more than $400,000 to a research project involving underwear that can detect when a person smokes cigarettes.

The University of Alabama has received two grants totaling $402,721 for the project, which so far has produced a “very early prototype” of the monitoring system, which -- in its current state -- fits like a vest.

The Personal Automatic Cigarette Tracker (PACT for short) is intended to accurately measure when and how often people smoke as well as how deeply they inhale. The real-time information would be used to design strategies for smoking cessation.

Remember my Foods from Chile Blogger Challenge post from a couple weeks ago? Well, I finally selected a recipe idea from your submissions and am sharing it today! This smoked salmon and avocado tartine uses 2 of the basket ingredients, smoked salmon and Chilean olive oil. Thanks to Jillian B for the excellent suggestion! As soon as I saw her dish concept I knew I had to make it. The idea of pairing rich, buttery smoked salmon with fatty avocado sounded like magic. And it was. The subtle Chilean olive oil perfectly enhanced the ingredients. Brined capers brought just the right amount of salt and acidity while fresh dill really gave the tartine a seasonal lightness.

  150. Benghazi: Book delves into details

Account by former Navy SEAL describes heroism, mistakes

    http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/may/06/navy-seal-benghazi-book/

In the hectic hours during last year’s attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty and six others used $30,000 in cash bribes to get a small commercial jet to fly them from Tripoli and Benghazi to help embattled Americans there.

That was the only plane to depart in time to make a difference during the Benghazi siege. This week, a State Department official is expected to testify to Congress that a Libyan C-130 with other U.S. Special Forces troops was later ordered to stand down for unknown reasons.

Doherty’s bold move got him to the battle, but it also led to the Encinitas man’s death along with three other Americans killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack.

As Congress again sifts through the details of Benghazi Wednesday and Thursday, a book by a San Diego former Navy SEAL offers a virtually minute-to-minute description of the attacks that killed Doherty.

Also killed were U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, CIA security contractor Tyrone Woods of Imperial Beach and State Department official Sean Smith, a San Diego native.

The account, by former SEAL Brandon Webb and Army Ranger Jack Murphy, lays partial blame for the attack on poor communication between the Pentagon, CIA and State Department about each other’s missions in post-civil war Libya.

SEATTLE (AP) - The Seattle Police Department collected more than 700 guns during a buyback in January, and now city officials have a plan for what to do with them.

Mayor Mike McGinn is expected to announce Tuesday that they'll be melted into bricks carrying messages of peace, and the bricks will be placed around the city.

The buyback program was announced a month after last December's elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., by city leaders sick of hearing about gun violence.

Private sponsors including Amazon.com contributed tens of thousands of dollars so that people could anonymously turn in their weapons for shopping cards worth up to $200.

Some 716 guns were turned in. With support from the charitable foundation of famed glass artist Dale Chihuly, they'll be turned into bricks.

The mayor plans to visit public schools around the city to hear from students about how gun violence affects them, and their messages of peace will be represented on the bricks.

The Jewish cemetery of Ivano-Frankivsk is a shocking location. The terrain is huge, but it is largely empty. Here everything has been systematically destroyed during the German occupation. We see several memorials for people who are buried here in mass graves or were deported from the local ghetto to be murdered at other places. At several spots we see large piles of grave stones, which obviously came to light during construction works in the city and were brought here. Parts of the
cemetery are overgrown with dense vegetation. We see destroyed graves – close together. Terms such as destruction or eradication come in our mind. Glum we leave the cemetery.

A picture, it is said, is worth a thousand words. But according to a teacher at Forest Hills Public School, in Kitchener, Ontario, a sketch by four-year-old Nevaeh Sansone communicated only one word: “Draw!”

Which is precisely what police did—on the girl's father when he came to pick her up from kindergarten on Wednesday. The Toronto Sun reports that authorities arrested 26-year-old Jessie Sansone on charges of possession of a firearm. The father of four was reportedly handcuffed and eased him into the back of a waiting squad car. A strip search was in his immediate future.

When the cops got Sansone down to the station house, they told him to disrobe, lift his testicles, and bend over. Presumably they were on the lookout for a hidden crayon that might be used in future deadly sketches.

Sansone’s run-in with the law didn’t there, either. He told the Sun:

They came to my house, told my wife that I had been charged with possession of firearms, that she would have to come with them, and that Sundae [their infant daughter] would have to go with the social worker.

While they were there, police also searched the residsence and found a plastic toy gun that shoots foam darts. There is no word on whether the family had obtained a permit for the weapon.

The 911 operator said: “All right. We’re sending them, OK?”

And frantic Amanda said: “OK. I mean, like, right now. I need them now before he gets back.”

The 911 worker asked what her captor had been wearing and Amanda said: “I don’t know cause he’s not here right now.

    "That’s how we got away.”

Megaupload: A Case Based on a Law That Doesn’t Exist

The legal team supporting Kim Dotcom argue that Megaupload was used to share a “spectrum of content” including family photographs, academic coursework and files, including videos and music, that was purchased through legal means.

It admits that some of these files including potentially infringing material, but maintains that the case against Megaupload is “grounded in a theory of criminal secondary copyright infringement.”

“In other words, the prosecution seeks to hold Megaupload and its executives criminally responsible for alleged infringement by the company’s third-party cloud storage users,” the team claims.

“The problem with the theory, however, is that secondary copyright infringement is not – nor has it ever been – a crime in the United States. The federal courts lack any power to criminalize secondary copyright infringement; the United States Congress alone has such authority, and it has not done so.”
