I've Seen the Saucers

This was the appearance
and structure of the wheels:
 They sparkled like topaz,
 and all four looked alike.
Each appeared to be made like a wheel
 intersecting a wheel.

Iranian security forces in Shiraz dismantled a network of four underground ‘house churches’ on Sunday night, and arrested their leaders, according to reports in Iran’s media.

A Monday report by the Persian-language service Fars News, which is close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), described the churches as a ‘network of criminals’ which exploited vulnerable people.

“Most people attracted to these networks come from weak and vulnerable segments of society, who have psychological, emotional and economic problems,” the report said, echoing a recent warning by a prominent Qom cleric.

In June, Qom’s Friday prayer Imam Hojatoleslam Seyed Mohammed Saeedi told the Organization of Islamic Propaganda that Iran’s enemies targeted vulnerable Iranian families in order to establish underground ‘house churches’, according to Iranian Christian news agency Mohabat News, which works to report violations of Christians’ rights in Iran.

Monday’s Fars News report blamed the growth in underground Christian houses of worship on the spread of ‘Zionist propaganda’ from enemies outside the Islamic Republic.

ABU DHABI (Reuters) - When horse and camel riders attacked protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square during last year's uprising, Egyptian filmmaker Yousry Nasrallah was struck by one of the most vivid examples of how Egypt's huge class divide is exploited by powerful elites.

Nasrallah's "After the Battle" tells the story of how one of the horsemen struggles to come to terms with his role in the aftermath of one of the most violent incidents of the 18-day-uprising which toppled former President Hosni Mubarak in February 2011.

Actor Bassem Samra portrays impoverished tour guide Mahmoud from Cairo's Pyramids area, who is coerced into taking part in the brutal attack on crowds of anti-government demonstrators packed into Cairo's streets that has since become known as "The Battle of the Camel".

    Creating Hypertext

Plain URLs can look pretty ugly. Adding the hyperlink to a text, i.e. creating a hypertext, is much more stylish and will save space, especially if the link is very long.

    Input: MakeUseOf
    Output: MakeUseOf

As you can see this HTML tag is a little more complicated, so let’s look at it in detail. The actual tag is and the additional elements are attributes that specify further characteristics. The attribute href= specifies the link and title= defines the mouse-over tooltip. Be sure to use quotations marks to enclose the link and the title, otherwise you might end up with a broken link.

A popular Tacoma band from the 1960's is getting some prime-time attention once again.

Northwest band, The Sonics, played in garages before the term "garage band" was even coined, but even after all these years, their music hasn't stopped making an impact.

Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain is said to have been a fan of the band, and The White Stripes have reportedly called the band the epitome of 60's punk.

Unfortunately the band broke up after their 60's run. That's why Sonics lead singer Gerry Roslie was surprised when he heard one of their songs recently on a TV commercial.

"We're just watching football and all of a sudden that comes on and the jaws drop," says Roslie.

The ad for BMW features The Sonics song "Have Love, Will Travel."

Roslie was in the dark, he thought maybe someone at BMW was one of their European fans back in the 60s, or maybe it was someone who spotted them at a festival they played in 2007.

A New York promoter begged them to reunite for the show. At first, the guys said 'don't be ridiculous,' but the deal kept getting sweeter. They agreed to play and were shocked to see most of the audience was kids and they were singing along.

"We thought how can this be? Here we are 40 years later and they're all treated us like we're teenagers. They were stage diving and mosh pitting."

Roslie says it blows his mind to see young audiences enjoying their music.

"I still can't believe it," says Roslie. "It's just amazing how it even happened, you know, guys from Tacoma playing in garage."

Roslie says they thought they were done playing years ago.

"We had no clue this was ever going to happen. We were done playing."

But they're not now. Next month, The Sonics are opening on a European tour.

    Barack's gazin' at Benghazi
    Doesn't know where to begin
For he knows now his screwup there
    Will help Mitt Romney win
He wants four more years a-golfing
    At the taxpayers' expense
    Handing money to his cronies
    And destroying our defense
He knows that if he's defeated
    Wife Michelle will be annoyed
She wants four more years to gorge on
Foods she tells us to avoid
Both of them came to the White House
    Expecting four years of slack
All they had to do was occupy
The White House, and be black
Which is why they cry "racism!"
    If you dare to criticize
All the ways they've failed the people
    Of the nation they despise

WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -The Webster Parish Sheriff's Office confirms an underground bunker exploded late last night at Camp Minden. There are no reports of any injuries or deaths. The explosion site was discovered right at sun-up.

Chief Deputy Bobby Igo says the bunker belongs to a company called Explo. Authorities said they will have more information at a 9 a.m. news conference at Camp Minden.

Igo says the underground bunkers are designed to send any blast up instead of out to lessen the shock wave impact.

State Police, the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office and the military will investigate exactly what happened.

Earlier in the morning, Sheriff Gary Sexton said there was a "possibility that a meteor did hit the ground" in the area, but deputies had not pinpointed an exact location.

  170. E.B. White writing in his boat shed overlooking Allen Cove.

E.B. (Andy to his friends) wasn’t so much a hermit, or even a farmer, as a paid correspondent to the natural world. His essays and journals are frank yet soaring; every word a testament to his overwhelming affection for quiet, observant, country living.

This week marks the 60th anniversary of his most famous work, Charlotte’s Web, a love letter to the sights and smells of his salt water farm on the Blue Hill peninsula of Maine.

The portrait of E.B. was taken by Jill Krementz and can be found in her book The Writer’s Image.

almost Knopflerish not quite as elegant unique and gorgeous

    but still Pink Floyd

I have to lay down I am so tired and pained in le body
between them dragging me all over bedbugistan and the applied kinesiology my no ass is aching bad

he gave me 3 things to take
    Betaine Hydrochloride
which I apparently make zero of - this is supposed to exist in the stomach it makes proteins absorbable in the intestines
without it all the protein I take in just passes through thus one of the causes of the muscle wasting probably the main cause
Some mixed bioflavinoids and an Iodine Plus thing this to address the hyper thyroid
he would have given my Q-10 and L-Tyrosine if I were not taking it already there is L-Tyrosine in the Iodine Plus thing

he says my muscle wasting is bad and must have been going on even when I was fat I just could not see it then

he wants me to measure a certain spot on my thigh every day to see what is happening

My lymph system my adrenals my thyroid and my pancreas (obviously since there is only half of it) are not operating properly plus no spleen

thank GOD my liver and kidneys seem to work fine

anyway he says if I do not arrest it I will literally waste away like the MS patients and that normal doctors are not going to address it too complex involves too many systems they are all "specialists" so this is why no one has really addressed it and they won't and even if they did what they would prescribe would kill me

he wants me to have a muscle biopsy to see the chemical composition of what is left of my muscle I have to see if I can find a way to get that

I have to do an thing with my pectoral muscles to lift them off the lymph nodes in my chest every day I have to grab it and sort of roll it away on each side 5-6 x 3 x a day this to stop it impeding the system as for some reason those muscles are collapsing into it and cutting it off - the ones in my groin they dug into during the surgeries so those are compromised...

I go back to him Nov 6
