I just spent over an hour getting my cable box rebooted. Couldn't find the bloody # on the internet. They've had a lot of technical issues lately. I was finally able to open a chat session with support and they were able to get it resolved. At least if the TV is running, it masks the sounds of the dripping water. I'm very sensitive about annoying noise, dripping water, smacking gum, crap like that drives me nuts. This and a visit to the garage makes it bearable.

IN the early 19th century, the United States was one of the most
egalitarian societies on the planet. “We have no paupers,” Thomas
Jefferson boasted in an 1814 letter. “The great mass of our population
is of laborers; our rich, who can live without labor, either manual or
professional, being few, and of moderate wealth.

    Most of the laboring
class possess property, cultivate their own lands, have families, and
from the demand for their labor are enabled to exact from the rich and
the competent such prices as enable them to be fed abundantly, clothed
above mere decency, to labor moderately and raise their families.”

For Jefferson, this equality was at the heart of American
exceptionalism: “Can any condition of society be more desirable than
    this?”

That all changed with industrialization. As Franklin D. Roosevelt argued
in a 1932 address to the Commonwealth Club, the industrial revolution
was accomplished thanks to “a group of financial titans, whose methods
were not scrutinized with too much care, and who were honored in
proportion as they produced the results, irrespective of the means they
used.” America may have needed its robber barons; Roosevelt said the
United States was right to accept “the bitter with the sweet.”

But as these titans amassed wealth and power, and as America ran out of
free land on its frontier, the country faced the threat of a Serrata. As
Roosevelt put it, “equality of opportunity as we have known it no
longer exists.” Instead, “we are steering a steady course toward
economic oligarchy, if we are not there already

The Libyan scandal is the perfect storm for President Obama’s foreign
policy — at one stroke demonstrating the consequences of his failures in
Egypt, the continuing capability of the jihadists he’s crowed about
defeating, the incompetence of his own administration as it stripped
security from Libya, and the corruption and cynicism that compelled
officials to lie and spin in the face of obvious truths.

today we begin the adventure of four people sharing a single bathroom. I need my morning shower. Not sure how well this is going to work out because no one can trash a bathroom like an 18 year old young lady. I'm already figuring out the logistics.

The leak continued all night long. It was maddening, but I survived. I'm going to have construction contractors and plumbers marching through my house for the next couple of weeks. Practically hell for me. At least Babba was able to contain the interlopers outside. I can move my phone and laptop down to the garage to try and maintain my sanity.

Need to get all of our financial documents into my gun locker. It's fireproof up to 2,000 degrees I think. I am uncertain about that though. Gotta get the boy to make sure all of his stuff is locked up too. Not to mention the wife's jewelery.

This is going to negatively impact my visits to the garage. Ya never know who is who anymore these days. At least I have my beer fridge.

Jews do not need to borrow Jesus blood or name to enter the covenant we come in as he did with the same obligations
under a binding legal contract whether we acknowledge this or not

SO Jews can love Jesus make him their Rabbi maybe use him as cosmic defense lawyer if he thinks you deserve that but they do not need him for "savior"

He is the door for the gentiles to enter the covenant on that level we do not need his services

so Jews who proclaim they are "saved" through Jesus are well... confused.

  62. It was only upon reading his obituary this month that I first learned of Nguyen Chi Thien. He was a courageous Vietnamese dissident who had spent nearly 30 years in prison for his opposition to communist repression, cruelty, and lies. Much of Nguyen’s opposition was expressed in poetry, most famously “Flowers from Hell,” a collection of poems he memorized behind bars, and only put down on paper after being released from prison in 1977.

The poems were published after he audaciously handed off the manuscript to British diplomats at their embassy in Hanoi, the AP obituary recalled. As he walked out of the embassy, “security agents were awaiting him, and he was promptly sent back to prison.” He spent the next 12 years in Hoa Lo, the notorious Hanoi Hilton. While he was in captivity, “Flowers from Hell” was published; it earned the International Poetry Award in 1985. By the time he emigrated to the United States in 1995, his poems had achieved wide renown. His stanzas “became as familiar as songs,” wrote Anh Do in The Los Angeles Times, and “continue to move the Vietnamese immigrant generation — and their sons and daughters.”

By coincidence, the same newspaper page that carried Nguyen’s obituary also ran a much longer story about Eric Hobsbawm, the famous British historian who died on Oct. 1 of pneumonia at age 95. The two men could hardly have been less alike.

Once all this crap is repaired it's time to paint again, rip up the carpet, lay down some hardwood floors. Might as well do it now. Hardwoods in four rooms and the stairs. Also time to replace 25 year old furniture. Should be the last time I have to do that. I don't think 77 is an age I'm going to have to worry about.

Muhammad Galaa Idris: The current pope – Benedict IV or VII, or whatever – is even more Zionist than Herzl. I follow his statements, and I’ve already said that if that man is not a Jew, then he has been Judaized.

What he says exceeds what the Jews themselves say. He is more of a Zionist than the Zionists themselves.

Difficult, but not impossible for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God, pope says ...

"It will be very difficult but not impossible for one who is rich
to enter the kingdom of God." Before the Angelus, Benedict XVI spoke about Jesus'
warning to the young man mentioned in today's Gospel. In front of 30,000 people
in St Peter's Square, he also cited the examples of those "who used their
wealth in an evangelical way, reaching sainthood.

    The six corporations that collectively
control U.S. media today are Time Warner, Walt Disney, Viacom, Rupert
Murdoch’s News Corp., CBS Corporation and NBC Universal. Together, the
“big six” absolutely dominate news and entertainment in the United
States. But even those areas of the media that the “big six” do not
completely control are becoming increasingly concentrated. For example,
Clear Channel now owns over 1000 radio stations across the United
States. Companies like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are increasingly
    dominating the Internet.

But it is the “big six” that are the
biggest concerns. When you control what Americans watch, hear and read
you gain a great deal of control over what they think. They don’t call
    it “programming” for nothing.

Back in 1983 it was bad enough that about
50 corporations dominated U.S. media. But since that time, power over
the media has rapidly become concentrated in the hands of fewer and
    fewer people….

While Marx almost certainly wasn't dreaming of global billionaires,
Freeland says he might have recognized what's going on right now. "This
notion that borders wouldn't matter, that we would have commonality of
interests around the world. Well, guess who got there first? The
    plutocrats."

No one is arguing (except the Republicans and Democrats in Congress)
that it is okay for individuals and big corporations to use the
government to create regulations to keep out competitors or get
government bailouts (e.g., the failing banks and two auto companies).
The current system we have in this country is called crony capitalism.

The mob of skateboarders and skate fans who ran amok through Hollywood on Saturday night, captured on a YouTube video by a driver caught in the middle of the mayhem, garnered national attention.

Skaters were seen vandalizing businesses and throwing bottles, while bystanders are seen running — resulting in the deployment of more than 100 Los Angeles police officers in riot gear.

The incident began before 9 p.m. as about 1,500 skaters and skate fans showed up to a theater that only holds 600 people to watch a free premier of “Bake and Destroy.
