Barley Dreamers

Gideon arrived
just as a man was telling a friend his dream.
"I had a dream," he was saying.
"A round loaf of barley bread
came tumbling into the Midianite camp.
It struck the tent with such force
that the tent overturned and collapsed."
~ Judges 7

If You Want Blood...

You got it.

This is my blood of the covenant,
which is poured out for many
for the forgiveness of sins.
~ Matthew 26

Babbagandalous!

Coming to his hometown,
he began teaching the people in their synagogue,
and they were amazed.
"Where did this man get this wisdom
and these miraculous powers?" they asked.
"Isn't this the carpenter's son?
Isn't his mother's name Mary,
and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?
Aren't all his sisters with us?
Where then did this man get all these things?"
And they took offense at him.
But Jesus said to them,
"Only in his hometown
and in his own house
is a prophet without honor."
~ Matthew 13

When E.F.Nigh Talks, Nobody Fucking Listens...

As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
For in the days before the flood,
people were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage,
up to the day Noah entered the ark;
and they knew nothing
about what would happen
until the flood came
and took them all away.
That is how it will be
at the coming of the Son of Man.
~ Matthew 24

Night of the Hunter

If you have been trapped
by what you said,
ensnared by the words of your mouth,
then do this, my son, to free yourself,
since you have fallen into your neighbor's hands:
Go and humble yourself;
press your plea with your neighbor!
Allow no sleep to your eyes,
no slumber to your eyelids.
Free yourself,
like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
~ Proverbs 6

Babbagarian Freakout

Hear my prayer, O LORD,
listen to my cry for help;
be not deaf to my weeping.
For I dwell with you as an alien,
a stranger, as all my fathers were.
~ Psalm 39

Because of you
I am a stranger....
a monster....
Orangutan!!

Once again we delve into the esoteric and obscure,
the slightly twisted and totally insane.
It's plum brandy time in Budapest....

Do Right Woman - Do Right Man

If you do what is right,
will you not be accepted?
But if you do not do what is right,
sin is crouching at your door;
it desires to have you,
but you must master it.
~ Genesis 4

Show Me

At that time,
Abimelech and Phicol,
the commander of his forces
said to Abraham,
"GOD is with you in everything you do.
Now swear to me here before GOD
that you will not deal falsely with me
or my children
or my descendants.
Show to me
and the country
where you are living
as an alien
the same kindness
I have shown to you."
Abraham said,
"I swear it."
~ Genesis 21

My Fine Feral Friends

When Job's three friends,
Eliphaz the Temanite,
Bildad the Shuhite
and Zophar the Naamathite,
heard about all the troubles
that had come upon him,
they set out from their homes
and met together by agreement
to go and sympathize with him
and comfort him.
~ Job 2

HAPPY BD CHIBLOO!

Every Day People

I also shook out the folds of my robe and said,
"In this way may GOD shake out of his house
and possessions
every man who does not keep this promise.
So may such a man be shaken out and emptied!"
At this the whole assembly said,
"Amen," and praised the LORD.
And the people did as they had promised.
~ Nehemiah 5

I'm Going Home

Then the elders
and all those at the gate said,
"We are witnesses.
May the LORD make the woman
who is coming into your home
like Rachel and Leah,
who together built up the house of Israel.
May you have standing in Ephrathah
and be famous in Bethlehem.
~ Ruth 4

Houses Of The Holy

But I,
by your great mercy,
will come into your house;
in reverence will I bow down
toward your holy temple.
~ Psalm 5

Tuesday Afternoon

Now, Herod the tetrarch
heard about all that was going on.
And he was perplexed,
because some were saying
that John had been raised from the dead,
others that Elijah had appeared,
and still others,
that one of the prophets of long ago
had come back to life.
But Herod said, "I beheaded John.
Who, then, is this I hear such things about?"
And he tried to see him.
When the apostles returned,
they reported to Jesus what they had done.
Then he took them with him
and they withdrew by themselves
to a town called Bethsaida,
but the crowds learned about it
and followed him.
He welcomed them
and spoke to them about the kingdom of GOD,
and healed those who needed healing.
Late in the afternoon
the twelve came to him and said,
"Send the crowd away so they can go
to the surrounding villages and countryside
and find food and lodging,
because we are in a remote place here."
He replied,
"You give them something to eat."
~ Luke 9

Happy Go Lucky Girl

Is any one of you in trouble?
He should pray.
Is anyone happy?
Let him sing songs of praise.
~ James 5

People Got To Be Free

Therefore, this is what the LORD says:
You have not obeyed me;
you have not proclaimed freedom
for your fellow countrymen.
So I now proclaim 'freedom' for you,
declares the LORD -
'freedom'
to fall by the sword, plague and famine.
I will make you abhorrent
to all the kingdoms of the earth.
~ Jeremiah 34

Nothing Else Matters

Above all, my brothers,
do not swear—
not by heaven or by earth
or by anything else.
Let your "Yes" be yes,
and your "No," no,
or you will be condemned.
~ James 5

The Guilty Party

Jesus said,
"If you were blind,
you would not be guilty of sin;
but now that you claim you can see,
your guilt remains."
~ John 9

Super Freak

Jeshurun grew fat and kicked;
filled with food,
he became heavy and sleek.
He abandoned the GOD who made him
and rejected the Rock his Savior.
~ Deuteronomy 32

When I Was Young

Remember not the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you are good, Oh LORD.
~ Psalm 25

Suspicious Minds

If anyone teaches false doctrines
and does not agree to the sound instruction
of our Lord Jesus and to godly teaching,
he is conceited and understands nothing.
He has an unhealthy interest
in controversies
and quarrels about words
that result in envy, strife, malicious talk,
evil suspicions and constant friction
between men of corrupt mind,
who have been robbed of the truth
and who think that godliness
is a means to financial gain.
~1 Timothy 6

Guilty

Declare them guilty, Oh GOD!
Let their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish them for their many sins,
for they have rebelled against you.
~ Psalm 5
