Seven Inches Of Hot Vinyl

Haven’t you heard, my lord, what I did
while Jezebel was killing the prophets of the LORD?
I hid a hundred of the LORD’s prophets
in two caves, fifty in each,
and supplied them with food and water.

Third Man Records is proud to announce the most virile entry in the history of its Blue Series singles: The man, the legend himself Mr. Tom Jones laying his unmistakable voice over Howlin' Wolf's "Evil" and the Frankie Lane classic "Jezebel" (as covered over the years by the likes of Edith Piaf and Anna Calvi). Both tracks were produced by Jack White at Third Man studios.

Lady Of The Lake

Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake,
so that the waves swept over the boat.
But Jesus was sleeping.

The Monkey Speaks His Mind

They made their hearts as hard as flint
and would not listen to the law
or to the words that the LORD Almighty
had sent by his Spirit
through the earlier prophets.
So the LORD Almighty
was very angry.

All Dead, All Dead

The realm of the dead
is naked before God;
Destruction lies uncovered.

Telegraph Road

"Cursed is anyone
who leads the blind astray on the road.”
Then all the people shall say,

A long time ago came a man on a track
Walking thirty miles with a sack on his back
And he put down his load where he thought it was the best
Made a home in the wilderness
Built a cabin and a winter store
And he ploughed up the ground by the cold lake shore
The other travelers came walking down the track
And they never went further, no, they never went back
Then came the churches then came the schools
Then came the lawyers then came the rules
Then came the trains and the trucks with their load
And the dirty old track was the telegraph road

Then came the mines and then came the ore
Then there was the hard times then there was a war
Telegraph sang a song about the world outside
Telegraph road got so deep and so wide
Like a rolling river ...

And my radio says tonight it's gonna freeze
People driving home from the factories
Six lanes of traffic
Three lanes moving slow ...

I used to like to go to work but they shut it down
I got a right to go to work but there's no work here to be found
Yes and they say we're gonna have to pay what's owed
We're gonna have to reap from some seed that's been sowed
And the birds up on the wires and the telegraph poles
They can always fly away from this rain and this cold
You can hear them singing out their telegraph code
All the way down the telegraph road

I'd sooner forget but I remember those nights
Yeah, life was just a bet on a race between the lights
You had your head on my shoulder you had your hand in my hair
Now you act a little colder like you don't seem to care ...
Well just believe in me baby and I'll take you away
From out of this darkness and into the day
From these rivers of headlights these rivers of rain
From the anger that lives on the streets with these names
'cos I've run every red light on memory lane
I've seen desperation explode into flames
And I don't want to see it again ...

From all of these signs saying 'sorry but we're closed'
All the way down the telegraph road

It's A Dirty Job But Somebody's Gotta Do It...

On Labor Day 2008, Rowe launched a website,, which is focused on the decline in the blue collar trades and the crumbling state of the infrastructure. A trade resource center has been launched and provides information, resources, and forums for people interested in learning about, or pursuing a career in, the trades,  as well as a new blog aggregator for the trades and construction industry called the "Trades Hub", which launched in April 2011.
On September 19, 2010, Mike Rowe and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers started a grassroots campaign called “I Make America”. The campaign aims to create jobs in the manufacturing sector by encouraging infrastructure investment and export agreements. The group argues that this will improve the economy and global competitiveness of the United States.
Mike Rowe has contributed video content to The Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute's trade-worker recruiting campaign, culminating in an Iron Bowl-themed commercial broadcast on local CBS affiliates during Thanksgiving weekend 2010.
In May 2011, Rowe testified on the issue before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.

Pay them their wages each day before sunset,
because they are poor and are counting on it.
Otherwise they may cry to the LORD against you,
and you will be guilty of sin.
~ Deuteronomy 24

And Now For Your Moment Of Exotica

(September 16, 1921 – October 2, 1998),
born John Roland Redd in St. Louis, Missouri
was a musician, composer, pianist,
organist and television pioneer.
He was known as the Godfather of Exotica.

After the wall had been rebuilt
and I had set the doors in place,
the gatekeepers,
the musicians
and the Levites were appointed.

Korla Pandit was the first guy to do music TV  - THE FIRST. Also the first guy to get away with  Miscegenation  right in front of everyone's eyes  and on the TV and Radio to boot.  If he loved her  -  he HAD to:

Anti-miscegenation laws in the United States

Never mind the whole cool exotica thing that went along with it .. an ancillary benefit!  GOD BLESS HIM and all his children

Holy Smoke

See, the Name of the LORD
comes from afar, with burning anger
and dense clouds of smoke;
his lips are full of wrath,
and his tongue is a consuming fire.

The idols speak deceitfully,
diviners see visions that lie;
they tell dreams that are false,
they give comfort in vain.
Therefore the people wander
like sheep oppressed
for lack of a shepherd.

I'm A Man

He created them
male and female
and blessed them.
And he named them
when they were created.

Pretty Flamingo

Who is this that appears like the dawn,
fair as the moon, bright as the sun,
majestic as the stars in procession?

You Know I'm No Good

People open their mouths to jeer at me;
they strike my cheek in scorn
and unite together against me.
~ Job 16

Heart In A Cage

My sacrifice, O God,
is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart you,
God, will not despise.
